Up the forest track to find the path alongside fence to the top. Pleasant two hours up and down and some great views at the top.the pigguy 22/12/2023

Route as per JonGlew. Slight bit of storm Arwen damage to be negotiated on section from track to wall but not too bad going. 4.7 miles, 2hrs round trip.JulieB30/09/2023
Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log: Same route as Sealf4, easy peasy. 'Easy enough route up forestry tracks to NO029080 then followed obvious path by fence to trig point and excellent views'thejackrustles26/09/2023
Much easier than expected. Followed track to NO 03720 07725 then up trod alongside fence straight to summit. One slightly boggy section on trod but easy to cross on grass clumps.nicolajane19/09/2023
Forest track from Littlerig car parkhummusg26/06/2023
11.25 from a night sleeping at Littlerigg up the track curling right at a junction higher up then at U bend where there are felled trees to the right, west up wall line in first ride. Then easy final path south to summit. Trig S6197vegibagger07/06/2023
Our route was NOT nice but it worked in late May 2023. Much of the forest has been felled and some replanted and now all but impenetrable. If using a bike leaving the track at NO038076 MAY still be a good route. We walked and left the track on the north side of Brunt Hill near where a wall is shown (about NO029079). We walked up a deeply rutted extraction track generously covered in debris. Once the ruined wall appears it may be worth crossing to its NW side to seek easier going. After crossing the boggy little col the wall becomes a proper wall and the going becomes easy grass leading to the open hill top. Time it right and a feast of bilberries awaits Of course by now this may all have been cleared and replanted.m0jla28/05/2023
Parked at Little Rig. Followed the track to NO 03807 07656 then took footpath along edge of trees to the summit. Continued through fire breaks to open ground and across to Nether Town Hill then north to Mellock Hill. Continued north towards tree line then skirted trees and wound my way back to the outward track and starting point. A lot of uneven, wet ground after Innerdouny so quite an energy sapping route despite not being long or having much climb.Tonester22/03/2023
Parked at Littlerig. Up track. Left at junction. At 0293 0797 followed remains of wall across area of clearfell. Not too rough, but will soon be unpassable with spruce trees. After the clearfell at a junction in the wall, continued to follow wall leading to summit ridge. At end of wall the proper path was found coming in from the NE (presumably from the track at 0380 0768).PeteF18/03/2023
With Rod from small car park up track to just past high point where path then follows fence to just short of the summit. Views still good but starting to haze so East Lothian not clear as it had been earlier from Lendrick Hill.SS23/02/2023
From car park at foot of track. Right turn at the fork.jef23/01/2023
Dog walk w/Devon, Tracey, Thom. Out and back from Littlerig Car Park.ZacField07/01/2023
From Littlerig car park. Up forest road until it starts to go downhill and followed track by fence all the way up to the trig. Nice and easy. Back same way. With Mntainman.Dangerous Dave02/12/2022
As per isbjorn. Track and footpath all the way. Considered shortcut back via stone wall and forest ride but looked lumpy underfoot plus had a few stormblown fallen trees. Gate at carpark was open, saw no foresters on hill. Just over 2 hours return.willyross25/11/2022
Parked next to high gate. Easy walk. Until onvious old marked route to,summit.VerySlowPlodder01/07/2022

From mapped parking to W, forest road to NO 0335 0790, then up a break between clear fell and mature conifers to wall, follow wall SE for ~250m then fence SW to top.jonglew22/12/2021
From parking at Littlerig, followed forestry track until just past high point. Then followed fence (path) easily to top. Excellent viewpoint, with Inez and Teddy.clashcityrocker23/11/2021
Parked at Littlerig NO012070 (there is a no parking sign as you pull in but it means on that side of area, it's fine to park on the other side). Followed forest track to junction at NO021075 then took right-hand (east) track (ignored yellow arrow on left track) and continued to what is shown as a forest ride at NO033079. This is now the boundary of a clear felled area. Followed edge of woods up to wall at NO031076. Climbed wall and followed the wall to wall/fence junction at NO033074 where I followed wall/path to south west to the open area and summit. Went down the same way. There is a well walked path that looks like it heads to the end of the forest track at NO036073 which would be an alternate route up.Danmawr24/10/2021
From Littlerig, as others. Signs only refer to outside of bend - we drove in and found another sign indicating parking areaAlanD02/08/2021
From Littlerig. We had to park on the verge as there were signs in the area marked as a car park on the map saying no parking due to lorries turning in and out at all times.KevPalmer11/05/2021
With Iain - first of two. Parked second CP then track nearly all the way to the top. Exactly 1hr from top back to car.iangpark09/04/2021

From Littlerig and forest tracks, then up path on NE ridge.Winterfloodian12/08/2020
As suggested by others, took the forestry track to NO038076 and followed the clear path up from there. Easy route if not the shortest. On to Mellock Hill: short passage through the trees to NO029076 then easy walk along firebreaks via Black Law to NO025067. Eventual return from this point following the tree line to NO015070 and back to Littlerig CP. Much shorter than the ascent, although not such easy going.TRG31802/06/2020
Solo jog up the via normale from Littlerig.amswanston01/02/2020
Isbjorn has the route to follow. Up the track from the Littlerig car park. Turn right at the first fork (don't follow way marked route) and keep walking around the hill until the track eventually reaches an open area. From here a narrow footpath follows the line of an old post and wire fence to a stone wall and then on to a summit. No thrashing through forestry required, just a little patience.summitter10/01/2020
2nd time.russell6112/08/2019
From Littlerig (good parking). NE up forest road. The critical R turn is at least 150m before where it is depicted between two knolls, on the OS 50K map - it is a narrow fork, marked by a post with yellow arrow disc - ignore the arrow insistingly pointing L and take the R fork. The bends, descents and reascents of the forest road seem endless and disorientating but stick with it until a broad ridge is crested at NO 038076 where open moorland comes into view and the road starts to descend into much denser forest, marked by some decrepit timber work. From here an old fence acts as a 700m handrail, SW, to the top (occasional signs of a 'path' under the snow).Isbjorn19/03/2019
Running from Dunning Glen. Windy, overcast, almost drizzle. Rounsfell07/12/2018
1of4: From B934 at Littlerig south CP.ChrisR11/09/2018
Parked in Littlerig just as the rain started! Followed the track as described in Jonny Muir's book. Path to the trig point follows a fence line and then through a gap in a wall. Weather improved considerably and superb panoramic views in all directions enjoyed whilst enjoying coffee.Buck30/07/2018
On the summit at 6:30amish whilst kids/Sarah still asleep in hotel. Used route described by Gill. Much nicer walk than I had anticipated.assynt_bob07/05/2018
As described by Gill.martin_hall15/04/2018
It's very easy getting up this hill. Park on the logging road, walk up the track, take the right fork, follow the track almost to its end (with two short descents) until you reach an open area on the right of the track, continue briefly until you reach more trees, where you'll see the fence heading up to the right, follow a good path along the fence to the top, and enjoy the splendid views.Gill26/10/2017
As Dugswell et al - there's a well trodden path along the fence now.Chris Peart23/10/2017

From Littlerig. Used info from others...track to high up round the back, small cairn marks forest break. Beware...not good at upper end storm winds have blasted down the trees near the top, spent 40mins trying to pick a route out, and then was a long way east. Route down returned to wall just before summit, followed a wide dog legged forest break to within 100m of track. Recent felling makes a good alternative route up, but will close in a few years. If you use, on the way up after the track splits in two take the right fork, it then dips down to a tiny turning track marked on OS GR 025076. Head due south and the wide break on the left in a SE direction (not the south forest break to the right). A wall is hidden under the left side edge trees and follow the river and wall to the top.N.Morters01/04/2017
From Littlerig along forest road, then up to summit through clear area NE of summit. Returned by following NW by a stone wall down, then SW along a firebreak back to forest road (some changes of direction, road in sight at end of firebreak)kdbennett25/03/2017
Solo. From car parking area at Littlerig up forest track to just before Mid Burn. Then up ride. Descended on the much easier route to the east to reach the forest track and so back to Littlerig. Very misty so not much of a view.pwbellarby08/01/2017
Followed forest track all round back of hill until a cairn is spotted away down on left. At this point headed uphill on right following fenceline.PaulineD05/01/2017
A pleasant sunny saunter to welcome the New Year. Sun rising soon after I lefty Littlerig, no-one around, except a young fox on the track towards its end. The walkers' path following a fence that meets the track on its right gave a dry and easy route to the summit.Nick Down101/01/2017
Parking on B934, with mora my dog. avoid firebeak at no 033 078 many fallen trees.BLACKHILL19/10/2016
Second of three tops today, starting from the forestry car park at Littlerig on the B934 this 5.5mile walk with 210m of climb can be found in Jonny Muir's book of UK County tops, The walk took me 2 hours to complete.WAYNE ROWLETT25/08/2016
Second Top today (after West Lomond). Littlerig CP, path all the way to the north of Brunt Hill (not that you can see it for trees) and then fire-break south and upwards which eventually gives a line to the summit beside the wall/fence. Plunged into the forest taking a direct line west back to join path near where the rivers meet. One of the lowest Tops in Scotland, but superb panoramic views in all directions.callumorr13/08/2016
From Litterig. Nordicstar's directions worked a treat. Route and write-up at: http://gayleybird.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/innerdouny-hill-and-lendrick-hill.htmlGayle29/05/2016
No problems with logging today, though they look ready to take some loads out via the walking route. Deep snow higher up made for an interesting challenge. Misty too.jenx01/12/2015
With Jenx. After Lendrick Hill this a harder proposition esp with the deep snow on track and clearing on top. From Littlerig to West. Lots of parking off track. Then the long and winding and snowy road to high point at 460m. Take the far side of clearing using old fence line as handrail to the top. Nice trig, no view. Hard work across the top in deep snow.nordicstar01/12/2015

From beginning of track off B934 at Littlerig - NO 01285 07090. Room to park 2-3 cars when tree-felling not in operation. Took forest tracks up round to east side of hill, then boggy path up to trig point on summit. Returned the same way. Solo walk. WARNING: currently tree-felling may cause some access issues on weekdays.Man of Kernow127/09/2015
The Lionel/Gerry route seems a lot easier than using a firebreak. The OS map isn't great. On the north side of the fence heading ENE from the summit is a large unforested area.Pete R26/09/2015
Parked at the beginning of the forestry track at Littlerig then used this track to get around to the eastern side of the hill, up beside the fenced forest on a small path to the top. This route avoids the forest and many fallen trees.Dugswell222/07/2015
On the track from Littlerig car park around to the eastern side of the hill, up beside the fenced forest on a small path to the top. Sunny, a bit breezy, snow level about 550-600 m.oriolefan10121/02/2015

One of those I'd rather forget! From Littlerig up track but went into forest too early and ended up getting trapped under windblown trees. Eventually escaped to find the summit and took a much easier line down via a wide firebreak to the west.AndrewFinnimore05/09/2013

A nice quick couple of walks after St. Andrews parkrun. West Lomond hen on to Innerdouny Hill. One day, two county tops... Innerdouny Hill has lots of forestry but thankfully it's relatively clear from the end of the forestry road. No scrambling through firebreaks!killiedaft10/08/2013
Saw nobody. Easy path from Forest track.bolton21/07/2013
Misty snowy walk with Jenny, Holly and Abby. Followed track to obvious firebreak and then follow fence and thru stone dyke to trig. 2 1/4 hours there and back.alexmaclennan16/02/2013
Easy forest track from car park at Littlerigg. Maps are wrong, there are no trees on summit and on a clear day the views are great - from Ben Lomond to Lowland Hills. Last 800m of ascent cross country. Descent difficult to south if not on tracks as I coulpeter07/09/2011

Revisit. Grassy summit near forest edge. From W, Littlebeg, parking inside forest; forest road to 026076, S thru open spruce then followed tussocky ride (wall) E then S to summit.RHW27/09/2009
Started at FC car park to W at Littlerig. Easy forest walk until trig could be seen on skyline, then direct ascent to reach it was a struggle. May be better ways.Aye Jimmy26/02/2009
