Parked at end of wind farm track (14:15) and walked up it, then briefly over moorland with faint paths to summit trig. Back by almost the same route. Met a man restarting a turbine. Overcast but clear on top; good views to snowy highland munros. Finish 16:25. 8.5k walk.dbb19/01/2020

Parked on verge opposite Bankfold entrance then headed directly up hill, mainly on vague ATV tracks.willyross14/11/2019
Parked on the bend at Coulshill farm after seeking permission. An easy solo walk SW in just over one hour return. Kept out of the way of unsightly windfarm tracks using this route. Very hot!bolton23/07/2019
Up by wind farm track. Very straightforward ascent.lenman30/06/2019
Up Green Knowes wind farm track from NN978052. After some intial bends, the track makes an ascending TR of the W flank of Ben Thrush, then over Rowantree Craig. An ATV track eases passage over mild tussocks, from turbine 5. Ben Thrush on the return walk via an ATV track from the last turbine - it is possible to cross the fence easily about 100 ft down the S flank of Ben Thrush and then aim for the Control Cabin.Isbjorn19/03/2019
I'd hoped to go the scenic route, but delays on the A9 forced a detour via the M90 and Glendevon, and a big dump of snow meant that the wind farm entrance was the only practical place to park. The snow made it pleasant to walk up the wind farm track, if a little icy where the contractors had sort of snow ploughed it. An ATV track and path lead from turbine 5 to the trig.Gill29/01/2019
From the end of the road there’s just enough room to park a car opposite the farm at Coulshill. From here just a direct line through the easy sheep and cow fields. Nice route.Peterb16/09/2018

Easy walk up the wind farm tracks from the Car Park at 971 051. Easy ground for the final few hundred metres to the summit. Returned via Ben Thrush.martin_hall21/04/2017
Solo. From Glen Sherup carpark at NN971051. Circuit over Steele’s Knowe. After ascending Ben Trush and Rowantree Craig continued mostly on wind farm tracks to Steele’s Knowe. Visited the southerly, slightly lower 485m spot height and then the trig point at the summit. Went on to Eastbow Hill, East Craigs and the Law.pwbellarby12/03/2017
Steele's Knowe trig and second OS 485m spot height (which seems lower), Rowantree Craig, Ben Thrush. A dreich day after a week of rain, so the windfarm access road was the dry option, its tediousness relieved by what may be the planet's only 19 mph speed limit sign. For the first time in a dozen years of hill walking, I fell into a cattle grid, both boots slipping on the snow covered grid at the turbine 5 turning, and my shins rattling like xylophones against the metal as I made the short and inglorious descent into the cattle grid's basin.Nick Down105/02/2017

Used the wind farm road. Nice walk in heavy fog. Not seeing the turbines but hearing them makes for an interesting walk. Nice easy first walk of the year to break in new boots. Ben Thrush on the way down.Stevend102/01/2016
With Jenx from farm to north. Lovely access from Auchterader to 230m and then easy grass slopes to summit trig. Why folk would want to walk the longer turbine road which starts lower? And risk ice falling on their head in winter.nordicstar03/12/2015
Straightforward from end of road to the north. Easy walking and only one fence to cross. Friendly cows in first field. Good views of an attractive valley.jenx03/12/2015

Began at start of windfarm track in Glendevon off A823 at NN 97841 05285 - room to park 2-3 cars without causing obstruction. Took windfarm track up to the head of the Eastplace Burn glen, then round its head and down to wide bealach. Left track at wind turbine no.6 across grassy moor to trig point on summit. Walk done in wonderful weather during a weekend break at the excellent Tormaukin Inn. Walk continued to Rowantree Creag.Man of Kernow118/04/2015
Parked in convenient space at entrance to wind farm on A 823. Walked up track as far as generator 5 and made final climb across grass to summit.mntainman10/02/2015

Start: Glen Devon. Ran up the wind farm access track and returned the same way. I expect that an ascent via Borland Glen would be nicer, but parking in Glendevon may be a problem except through agreement with the Hotel owners.raffemeister01/09/2013
