Caught train from Darwen to Entwistle and walked back zigzagging over the line of Sough Tunnel below. Including a diversion up to this top. Good viewpoint, but a fairly hazy day limited views to the north across the Ribble Valley and towards Pendle Hill. Challenging ROW issues to SW and NW from the Roman Road.Nick Caunt28/03/2019
Parking to the NW, across the road from a couple of cottages SD714210. Inquisitive horses shared my final Blackburn with Darwen Tump.David Evans25/02/2019
Started ok but ended a disaster day. Easy to Trig from the layby, then thought Id make it into a circular walk over Hoddelsden Moss and Grey Stone Hill. On the map there is a path over the top. Dont believe it, its bollocks. Got half way then turned back. If falling in bogs and nearly breaking your ankles several times is your thing, then go for it. Stopped for lunch near Scotland Reservoir and fell up to my knees in a quagmire of a ditch, then crossed a field with irate horses. Ended up back at the car early so went for a stroll by Entwistle ReservoirWayne Mac17/01/2019

3rd hill of 6 today, having climbed Turton Heights as an out and back from the Greens Arms road and finishing at the reservoir car park I was then driven by my Airbnb hosts and dropped off at Pick up bank to climb out and back to Rushy Hill, continuing by taking minor road to Hoddlesden, now feeling a bit sick with headache, took fp heading Ssw then Sse to arrive at Trig and summit. Continued SE taking fp's to reach access land continuing in S Easterly direction over Hoddleston Moss & Horse Hey taking track onto minor road with Toby Inn opposite. I contemplated stopping for something to eat but carried on instead towards Bull Hill....Dazingdale26/11/2017
