Just enough space to reverse in front of reservoir gates - Over fence & natural high point appears to be on SW side of covered reservoir, close to the mast & spot height. Walked along both sides of the SW wall. | gerrybowes | 09/01/2024 |

Penultimate hill to complete Kirklees Co. Train from Nottingham to Barnsley then another train to Huddersfield but got off at Shepley. Tracks, lanes and fp's skirting Shelley to Royd house (stopping for soup and coffee at the -Three Acres'). Continued on road to enclosed reservoir. No problem in climbing over to explore covered top and nearest natural high point beside fence plus also visited crest of road. Great lighting today and view of the impressive mast with a deep blue sky background. Took lane West opposite reservoir..next destination...Round Wood hill. | Dazingdale | 26/11/2016 |
Seen the transmitter from the M1 on many occasions. Contraflow road works by the actual top at time of visit, was able to park by locked gate and access reservoir top. | PeterD | 26/10/2016 |
Like others parked near transmitter and walked along road. | catman | 01/07/2016 |
I'll say I bagged it because I walked over the crest of the road then back again - be nice if we could get in there but the padlocks were emphatic looking (and asbestos survey signs unwelcoming). Ice cream in the car park - not needed as I was cold enough just getting from the layby and back. | briandavies | 17/04/2016 |
Parked at viewpoint then bagged the high point of the road and covered reservoir with Smudge. | Dugswell2 | 02/04/2016 |

On the way home after seeing the mighty Rams win at Huddersfield. | Mark Sims | 24/10/2015 |
Large parking area due north of the main transmitter. The highest point however, is a short distance further along the road. It is the area around the covered reservoir. | moorsman | 14/04/2015 |

Seen many times from afar. Parked at viewing point: main mast 330m/1080' high (Blackpool twr 158m, The Shard 310m, Eiffel 317m) and weighs 11,200 tons. Then 400m walk SW along road to highest point, covered reservoir(?) and small mast. | Aye Jimmy | 12/04/2014 |
