As Peter D, from pull-in on W. side of bridge - Up road & RoW, & then up over pasture to the obvious summit mound.gerrybowes05/12/2023
By footpath from the north then a soggy stroll over the various grassy rises. Fine views to north and westColin Crawford25/11/2023
From NE car park on fell road as for Nicky Nook. Up alongside Baranacre reservoir which is an off stream reservoir (not blocking any stream /valley) but drawing its water by intake pipe from the moorland River Calder close by. The sturdy perimeter fell wall is the work of craftsmen, horizontally laid square cut blocks but with a cut top wedge shaped block to allow the wall to slant uphill. Less impressive was the 2015 mistake when water was drawn from here, during maintenance, which contained cryptosporidium (from animal faeces) to 750,000 consumers in Fylde - causing diarrhoea. It cost United Utilities £23 million in compensation and £450,000 in a fine and court costs all because someone forgot to do a risk assessment for using this water temporarily whilst The Garstang pump house was being repaired. The sheep I passed on this hill may have been descendants of those responsible?Chris Pearson14/10/2022

Ascended by the footpath to the east, which was very wet. The flat summit though grassy was saturated, which was not easy for the sheep or the farmer.JohnW15/03/2020

Final hill of the day on circuit from Grizedale Bridge. By the aerials with good view eastwards to Bleasdale Moors. Interlocking spurs aplenty - the old geography lessons not entirely in vain!JOHNS04/01/2019
From Grizedale Bridge on a dull, overcast afternoon-first easy saunter up Holme Wood Hill, then on to Barnacre Moor along good track beginning at side of reservoir. With Oscar.catman04/01/2019

With Jo, circular walk from Grizedale Bridge. Road and track via Calder Side, both tops, then continuing on tracks/paths past Burns Farm to Grize Dale and then permissive path through Holme Wood. Weather; generally sunny with cool breeze, good visibility.amblerbob29/01/2018
Parked at Calder Side and walked uo FP to masts. Walked round the compound. HP seemed to be on S side (except for the man-made mounds to the East). Wet underfoot as expected. Good views from the top area.Andrew Pearson22/01/2018

From reservoir to NE. Didn't visit new (2020) summit locationRobertP05/02/2017
From Grizedale Bridge CP. Solo. The natural highest point would seem to be on one of the flat topped areas just north of the mast enclosures. However, there currently two large piles of soil between the enclosures. The summit is the top of these!ADT26/11/2016

Parked on surprisingly quiet lane near Bank Farm. Good weather. Good views - especially liked the carpet of trees to the south. Pondered why farmers obliterate footpath signs and why so many wind turbines don't turn in a stiff breeze.Wycombe Wanderer17/07/2016
