From Ridge Quarry car park to S. along road to fingerpost between nos. 81 & 83 - E. along RoW, over stile & immediate left along track to high point behind cottages & close to small wooden stable. Good views from road, including the cooling towers at Fiddlers Ferry, a landmark that is expected to have disappeared by the end of January 2024. | gerrybowes | 13/09/2023 |
Short dash from the road! Well i think the very tippetty top was in someones garden but my head was above the peak and it was in sight, I'm bagging it! | joed293 | 12/08/2023 |
Parked in quarry car park. Dropped down to canal, then steeply up ROW. Open gate into summit field. Back along the road - good views. Friendly horses. Also visited alternative summit. | PGCE | 26/02/2023 |
Circular walk from Disley Golf course A circular hike taking in Disley Hill, Marpleridge, and the Peak Forest Canal. Last day of the Christmas holidays. Some lovely views despite the odd shower. | Lazylizzie | 02/01/2023 |

3 of 6 on 23 mile bike ride starting in broadbottom. From Disley hill took the footpath between houses as high ground but had a wander round the back of the houses just for a nosey | The-Z-Man | 10/02/2022 |

Snowy hazy views from Ridge, near Ridge Cottage. Parked at Ridge Quarry Viewpoint to South (free) | Denise | 05/12/2020 |
Steep muddy footpath from the E, ground much the same height on N and S sides of Ridge Cottage which is possibly built on the natural high point. Quarry Ridge car park to the S provides picnic tables and fine views, today of snow covered moors to the E. | RichardM | 05/12/2020 |

(4th visit) Solo wander in the hot sun leaving L working in Romily for the day. Familiar lovely terrain with the add on of an explore down a semi dried up Goyt river bed to visit the County Tri-Point of Derbyshire/Cheshire/Greater Manchester. | Chris Pearson | 25/05/2020 |

Out and back again along the lovely canal on our 'new normal' regular 4 hour morning walk with the dogs. Walked up along the ridge through the leafy Victorian graveyard of Marple Church. Great views as ever in both directions. From summit carried on steeply down the fp to re-join canal. To our horror Poppy - our little rescue spaniel - bit a passing staffy on it's bottom - which spun round, looked surprised, dropped it stick and ran off ! | Chris Pearson | 04/05/2020 |

2nd visit. A lovely sunny 4.5 hr circular dog walk with the spaniels & L from the house. Out along the fascinating Peak Forest Canal crossing the 100 ft tall graceful Marple Viaduct and up alongside the 16 Marple locks -each raising the water by around 13 feet - to gain 209 ft in 1.5 mile -taking @ 3 hrs minimum for a boat in a rush. High point of fp as high as stable round the back -with a piano inside the house window. A tump with a piano on the top - something to sing about. Back across deserted golf courses - Covid-19 lockdown -although grass cutting in full swing - is that essential? | Chris Pearson | 17/04/2020 |
Summit indiscernible due to housing. Settled for the highest point of the public footpath between the houses, | moorsman | 04/03/2020 |

Almost drive by. Parked 50 yards north of footpath. | BobHancock | 12/04/2018 |
In between houses in the dark of early morning having driven up from Leicestershire. Nocturnal urban bagging must appear highly suspicious to sane people. | Campbell Singer | 26/02/2018 |
Along twitten between houses to stables area. 2 very friendly horses thought I had something for them and hemmed me in very efficiently! Took a while to free myself as didn't want to walk behind them. | jonglew | 23/01/2018 |

Parked in carpark SJ 96463 86711 and visited all potential high points. Round the back of the cottages by shed stable seemed most likely. | David Evans | 13/02/2017 |
Fantastic walk from Disley Hill across the golf course and along the canal followed by a stiff ascent of Marple Ridge. Superb views of Mellor Moor. | John Eley | 05/01/2017 |
2nd hill of three on a route from Romiley station to New Mills (Packhorse Inn) climbing Turncliff wood then after a stop at the Railway Inn near Rose Hill station i continued through an estate over the canal, past the Goyt Mill and into Marpleridge. Agree with Ayejimmy, high point via fp and round back. I also visited alternative where road descends there is a gate and i got 210m on my gps there. I followed the edge down and then had to climb down a wall onto the road with many thanks to a Hawthorn tree branch. Continued route to Mellor Moor via Strines station... | Dazingdale | 10/12/2016 |
Almost a drive by. | arranc | 23/08/2016 |

A roadway tump. Posted just to south briefly on new entrance to driveway down to the west. Walked up the road and into the little eastern pathway between houses that seemed to be highest point marginally. | vegibagger | 25/05/2016 |
Solo....From Memorial Park Marple (Free Parking Sundays) along Peak Forest Canal, up to ridge then on to Disley Hill, return via High lane and Macclesfield Canal. | Dave | 13/03/2016 |
