Parked in the Country Club car park in Calder Vale as it was all quiet today. Down into the vale and up the public footpath to the high point on the path then up to the summit trig via easily opened gates. Rather wet under foot and very misty but a nice bit of fresh air and Calder Vale is lovely backwater.nickywood111/02/2024
From Calder Vale to NNE. Decent roadside parking against wall, a few metres S. of RoW (532457) - RoW through woodland & across pasture to high point by gate - Over gate & S. across pasture (2 more gates) to trig point & summit.gerrybowes05/12/2023

From Calder Vale past cottages, then uphill. Then stayed in woods following faint track through bluebells on east side of fence, before entering field with trig and HP.PeterD12/05/2022

Good parking at end of the road in Calder Vale (SD 5334 4588). RoW to SD 5294 4508, then direct across mushy sheep pastures.jonglew01/01/2021

From NE where Calder Vale path emerges from the woods around edge of woods. Now 1 barbed wire fence at first field boundary. Returning to the N and met Sullom Side path at the ‘crank’ bend. This is much easier. Trig has red roses on it. Probably the best view there is of the Fylde. It’s ‘lateral’ Westerly prominence makes it a surprisingly good viewpoint.Nick Caunt14/07/2020

Set off early but after 30 minutes driving I realised I had left my wallet. Late start on this first hill of the day. From Calder Vale where I parked in the large cp at the Country Club. Go past Primrose Cottages before branching right. There is a rh fork just before. Ignore this. Returned over sodden fields to the Country Club.Campbell Singer13/01/2020

Parked in big Country Club car park above village then pleasantly along track to final cottages and up through woods into fields with hares playing in them to what is now Red Rose painted trigMark Sims18/07/2019
Ample roadside parking just before the road ends in Calder Vale. A path leads off to pass Primrose Cottages in the valley bottom. Continue uphill until you reach the farmland. Once through the gate keep to the wood edge across three fields and then head up to the summit in the fourth field. 3.21 km return, 40 minutes.moorsman08/03/2019
Started from Calder Vale. Took the path through Sullom Wood, comes out on to pasture where a few hops over fences and walls takes you to the Trig. We then carried on to Sullom End then reaching the road at Bell Lane. Took track opp Eccles Farm passing The Holt. Track then passes Lower House Farm and following the field path to road corner to left of Heald Wood. Then took path to left of Heald Farm to Strickens Lane and path back to Calder ValeWayne Mac14/12/2018

From rundown farmhouse to the nw. Cows nervously interested on summit. Most enjoyable amble and also made a clay impression of trig fb.vegibagger21/07/2016
Climbed via path at Sullom Side, then across fields. Lovely weather. Could see Snowdonia or Clwydian Hills.Wycombe Wanderer17/07/2016

As Aye Jimmy - good route! Note: parking in Calder Vale is for permit holders only from Monday to Friday. We risked it (Friday) and had no bother.David Gradwell24/04/2015

Nice walk from Calder Vale to the N. Took the RH of two tracks south past Primrose Cottages then through the wood and up to emerge in pastures. Followed top edge of wood around to a wall at right angles, then up to the top. Trig in field but maybe marginally higher 10m or so to W.Aye Jimmy07/09/2014
There is a track from the Sullom Side road junction - in full view of farmhouse though. You could use the PROW part of way, however you end up getting over barbed wire. Good viewMartin R07/04/2014
