Circuit from Lamonburn Bridge on the Forkings road. Over reeds and tussocks to intercept the track before the Law proper, to the summit and back to the road by the track. Three mysteries. 1 - the inscription on the memorial cairn, which Canmore gives as, 'To commemorate 7th June 1928 RLA KPGS'. 2 - the small wooden fences near the track. Enclosed, so not grouse butts. 3 - the two telephone poles at Lamonburn Bridge, connected to each other, but seemingly to nothing else.Nick Down103/03/2024
From the gate by the road 0.5km east of Forkings. 685296. Up ATV track to summit, back same way. Nice hil. 1.6 miles. Under 45 mins walking time.JulieB16/02/2024

Very easy ascent on a grassy ATV track straight to summit from the minor road just east of Forkings. Nice views from the little summit. Earlier that day we bagged Cairn Table in cloud. Later on we drove to and bagged Loudoun Hill in sun. 161m ascent.DanTrig17/04/2023

Just to be different, from gate across from Head of Greenock Water (parking for 1/2 cars) up atv track to small fenced area (note corrugated iron as marker on descent). Then 50m to wide sheep cropped grass rake that took me to 100m from summit. Easy enough from there.SS14/02/2023
Parked next to gate at NS 685 296. Went through gate and followed an ATV track almost to the top. 45 mins total time despite a sprained ankle.Jhimmy17/09/2022
As others, good verge parking by gate at NS 6852 2968 - Through gate & ATV track up onto E. shoulder, continuing W. up to trig point & summit cairn.gerrybowes10/08/2022

Ample parking by the metal gate on the lane east of Forkings NS685297. Took me under 30 mins to reach the summit on the good quad track to short path at top to the trig. Very nice and easy. Operated ham radio on summit for SOTA, GM4OBK/P.G4OBK (Phil)11/10/2020
As with others, I parked to the east of Forkings by the gate with the ATV track. This leads easily, if occasionally boggily, to the top. Climbed after Cairn Table.Clach Liath19/09/2020
Parked on good hardstanding 300m east of Forkings. Up ATV track all way to summit, initially past line of small wooden enclosures. Great views. back same way, 40 mins. Sun came out and I sat on my chair for lunch, so quiet, only 2 cyclists passed and looked south to crowded Cairn table with sheep for companyCoinneach29/08/2020

Good hardstanding off road parking at fence junction with Lambourne plantation. Hand railed fence to plantation then cut off NW direct for summit when fence turns to the NE. Quite rough ground beteen babies head until reach atv track then follow that all the way to summit. Ground SE edge of cairn looks highest. Attempted to follow atv track back to road but more or less due west of plantation corner seemed to be heading in wrong direction so cut off left through the babies heads again coming out on road near Lambourne bridge, 150m WSW of vanmntainman01/08/2020
P B743 as previously, but this time followed county boundary all the way to Wedder Hill before returning over Meanlour Hill. Long day on rough ground.agentmancuso13/06/2020

An easy walk up the ATV track starting E of Forkings, good parking next to the gate. The track follows the line of an unmapped stream past a number of wooden boxes. Partly grassy, partly boggy, it goes almost to the summit so no need for navigational aids in fog and rain.Gill24/01/2020

9th tump of the day, after Hareshaw Hill and the weather cleared prior to starting out, having been on and off rain all day prior to this. I parked up at layby at NS69016 31415 on the B743 just West of the Head of Greenock water. Straightforward ascent through heather and rough grass and tussocks to the cairn and Trig pillar, recording 471m @ NS 68108 30728. Back a similar if not more direct route, being able to spot the car of course helping. Onwards to Bibblon Hill...Dazingdale27/09/2019

From gate at NS685296 (plenty of parking) I picked up the ATV track which goes to the summit. It goes by the aforementioned boxes which look like failed tree protectors. There were Herdwick sheep on the lower slopes.Chris Peart27/03/2018

Ascended from the south, starting about 500m East of Forkings. Parked near a gate, followed the butts/boxes to a quad track that leads to easier ground on summit slopes. Thanks for the heads up Rick and Jen. Nice short walk using this route, approx. 45 mins in total, and despite the early morning drizzle I enjoyed this hill.assynt_bob03/04/2016
From Head of Greenock water, layby. Rough track to higher ground (almost). ok from there. Overcast, dry, good viewsiangalbraith25/10/2015
A good track can be found from the gate on the road to the south - just east of Forkings Farm. Away from the track the ground is very tussocky.JohnW18/10/2015
With Jenx, up from road to SE.We went from pt height 317 but rough ground. Better just half a km to West nearer to Forkings, follow the butts/boxes to a quad track that leads to easier ground on summit slopes. We returned that way, much better going.nordicstar30/08/2015

Pleasant afternoon out with 12 week old son, nephew and brother. Easy climb from SE but would have been even simpler if we had found the quad track slighly further west rather than ascending from layby next to the stream across tussocky ground.andy11/08/2012
