Parked at end of minor road to SE, immediately before gate into Heath Cottage, after freindly chat with owner. Good atv track from Nether Whitehaugh for a bit under 2km to NS 6017 2996 when it deteriorated to nothing. After that rough tussocky and very wet ground for rest of the day. On to Distinkhorn and picked up the Blacksidend trig pillar on return for a 9.5mile round.jonglew02/03/2024
Up from the south. Good track through the woods onto open hill sideAndrew Simmons15/09/2022
28km run from Loudoun Hill CP - Mill Rig, Wedder Hill and Distinkhorn. Ascended from track end in forest to NE. Followed firebreaks S then over Burnt Hill (ATV track) then on to summit. Popped over to Glen Garr then descended N on grass.quadbarrel21/03/2021

Parked at the end of the forest track on the B743 SSE of the hill. Track is in a wide space between parts of the forest. Continued on a grassy vehicle track higher up, then rough grass and mossy ground to the summit. Followed another ATV track back towards the Pennel Burn, then steeply down to cross, and up to an odd little pointy 'hill'. Back by the forest track.LizH06/07/2020
From B743 via Bibblon Hill and Burnt Hill, along the county boundary. Drizzle and low cloud most of the time, occasional rain and lashing down on top. On to ss4 Hart Hill then back via Burnt Hill, Meanlour Hll & Middlefield law. 24.6k, 7h10.agentmancuso13/06/2020
2nd of a two tump 10.4km loop, parking on hardstanding Sw of Main Castle, then over to Distinkhorn visiting both tops then S and SE along the fenceline (very wet)South to Glen Garr then Ese, recording 436m @ NS 59630 30868 then NE over Hart Hill and Little Hartmidden, veering North then following stream before dropping onto track and following this back to the start. I think these hills were really the crux of my East Ayrshire completion endeavour. Next, an out and back to Cairnsaigh...Dazingdale25/09/2019
Permission to park no problem at Heath Cottage NS 618 288. Track round Nether Whitehaugh to ATV at NS 615 292 (thru' gate) to top. Becomes less distinct at boggy area at NS 603302 (with good decoy ATV to NE - ignore)carole engel06/04/2019
From the track end on B743 where there is parking. A fair number of ATV tracks to help. Also visited the bigger, lower cairn. Interesting hillThearlaichdubh30/12/2018
Biked up Meath Hill forest track. Legged the Argo track continuing up past prominent mound the made a direct line under Reppock Knowe. The direct line more often than not fails to live up to expectation. Kept to the track near fence over Reppock Knowe on return.Eddie28/09/2017

Parked B743. Up track through Meath Hill Forest. Followed barbed wire fence to Reppoch Knowe. S to cross wall then N to Wedder Hill. Followed a series of feint tracks and paths to Pennelburn Linn and back along track to car.chrisbien18/06/2011
If coming from the trig at the other end of Blackside, keep to the high ground on the left, the peat hags and boggy moss on the direct route are wearying. The cairn at point 430m is a good lunch spot too.agentmancuso24/07/2007
fine hill; N (lower) top with large tumulus much the better summit. via farm tk to S and trig, without incident RHW25/08/2003
From Blacksidend; track then boggy moor to Trig. Over very boggy ground with peat hags to Wedder Hill. Date approx. Solo. The Captain07/06/1985
