Decided to have a quick walk up Lynchgate Hill before the main walk which was climbing Knolls on the Long Mynd. Parked on the road in Plowden and walked through the wood to Lynchgate summit and then the Shropshire Way to Knolls. More rain than expected but some dry periods and good views at times. /D | meltdiceburg | 05/01/2023 |

Parked in layby to N near entrance to the gliding club. Used The Port Way until veering left for direct ascent, though there is a BWF to get over near the summit. Only about 35m ascent this way. With Felix | RoguePulsar | 02/01/2022 |

Long Mynd day walk with Lindsey. Summit and trig were an out-and-back diversion while passing along The Portway. Route was from Plowden to Woolstaston; just over 8 miles with 1270 feet ascent. A blustery overcast day with several heavy showers (see also 28/06/2020 log for Pole Bank). | Skip | 28/06/2020 |

Large parking area alongside the road before the entrance to the gliding club. From here it is a quick walk to the summit. 30 minutes return or less. If you cut off on the path which claims it is not a right of way you save doing two sides of a triangle. Furthermore, the path is across open moorland! | moorsman | 21/04/2016 |
Easy stroll from gliding club entrance. Super views into Wales. | stig_nest | 13/04/2016 |
