Quite an adventure! Pretty much followed Denise's route. With B and Rjenx12/09/2023
Paid £3 fee for Raiders forest drive and parked in carpark to NE. Crossed mapped ford in sandals- Knee deep on slimy rounded pebbles,c 8m. Followed forest track to col. cut uphill in firebreak. Then thrashed through reasonable forest to open pathless terrain with Heather, moss, bog, slabs and grass. Summit has small cairn and large slab, with wild views. Sunny.Denise 20/04/2022
Followed LizH's directions to the letter, steady drizzle, soaking vegetation, pretty grim on the way up, but found reasonably benign bulldozer tracks on the way down despite poor visibility. Could swear the ford was a cm deeper on the way back out two hours later. Passed a couple of groups of forestry guys operating machinery, but friendly greetings each time.agentmancuso20/08/2021
From the Raider's Road Forest Drive, parking on a loop of road a very short distance up the side track at NX614 730. Took the nearby track to the ford. Water knee deep even after weeks of warm and dry weather. Followed the track to NX59870 71685 SE of summit, then up a break at the old forest edge. Followed bits of old ATV track, but ground very rough with long tussocky grass. Occasionally good bits of rock to walk on, but could have been slippery if wet. Good summit and good views. Descended NE shoulder into an area of recent felling, rejoining the track about NX5994 7253 via felling tracks. Generally rough walking.LizH25/07/2021
raiders road, river still knee deep even in the summer, track and up to the top from the south, cairn on the summit.robertphillips21/06/2019
3rd hill of 5 on a mountain bike ride from Gatehouse of Fleet, climbing Craiglowrie and Fell of Fleet then cycling around to the west side where i ascended direct from the track. A few streams, some brash but otherwise ok terrain with nice outcrops. I used a bit of the woodland to speed up. Descent as outward. Starting to get dark but felt i could squeeze in two more so carried on to follow a series of tracks to get close to Craigwhinnie.Dazingdale12/10/2018
From Fleet of Fell on a near enough direct line. Some very rough ground and lots of brash - not pleasant. Returned back over Fell of Fleet for the car.jonglew26/03/2018
From Raiders Road (£2). Knee-deep water in river after a dry spell.mae23/05/2016
After dry spell still difficult to ford river. Found old pair of abandoned boots to ford with - now on E side. Climbed from East but descended better ground to below track summit S.Eddie23/09/2014
Ascended after leaving Fell of Fleet. Returned to Clatteringshaws Loch on foot. No problem with the forest.JohnW21/03/2007
