From Oxey Crossroads through welcome access of Launde Big Wood nature reserve / SSSI - semi-natural ancient woodland. The poetic Wildlife Trust's web writer extols that Launde Woods is 'sure never to disappoint. Whether you’re admiring wildflowers or listening for nightingales, enjoying butterflies in the summer, indulging in a spot of ‘Shinrin-yoku’ (forest bathing) or looking for signs of badgers, the ancient atmosphere of this magical forest will soothe you and give you a truly wild experience' Have they invented forest bathing for their blurb? They gloss over that all this bliss may be shattered by birds being shot (which they dont control.) They are also a bit off the truth with their claim that it 'is situated on a hill top, with superb vistas of the surrounding countryside – a walk to admire the view is a must'. There are no views unless you escape out ofthe top of the wood over a barbed wire fence in a thicket - to gain the pasture summit (and nettle covered muck heap).Chris Pearson20/05/2022

Verge wide enough for a car at SK 7810 0393. Took a field gate opp Broom's Farm. Cattle pasture complete with a big herd of overly inquisitive cattle.jonglew23/08/2020
Walked in on the path from the east. Cut up through the wood on a wide but muddy ride from an access sign. Went through the gate at the top and crossed a gate to reach the summit.JohnW22/03/2020
Left the car parked at Oxey Cross Roads after having bagged Round Hill. Followed road E then picked up RoW running up side of field to woods. A gate 200m from the SW corner of the woods allowed access to a grassy track through woods and out the other side, just to E of HP. One unlocked gate allowed access to the field with HP in. Back the same way. Fifth of seven today.Wheelsy09/08/2019

Used track from ESE starting at SK7952.0352. Followed this to gate into Big Wood Nature Reserve. Broad grassy track leads through pleasant wood to emerge at gate. Step over fence and summit is not far away, a field with nettle patches overtopped by manure heap and a lot of curious cows.Aye Jimmy13/05/2017

Did not manage as too many people at Broom's Farm and attempted access also from spot height 187 but would have qualified as trespassing so we decided to be the bigger people - shame!! By bicycle with DTL. 33 miles, 2,120ft ascent total.Fionalevey24/02/2016
