Circular route from roadside parking NX611622. Took rad and track towards Grobdale of Girthon, then fairly direct climb to Ewe Hill. Continued along ridge to Laughenghie Hill (visiting the various summit contenders), descent NE over increasingly rough ground, crossed stream and climb to Airie Hill (also visiting the cairn). Descent S to climb Clack Hill, on to Loch Hill and to road via track from Grobdale of Balmaghie. Followed road SW from about 1km then headed SSW to climb Fell of Laghead, on to Craigtype and Benfadyeon. Returned via path to Laghead Bridge and road to start point. Some sunshine, some rain, fairly breezy.RobertP02/07/2023

From verge parking at end of public road at Slogarie bridge (avoiding £3 Raiders road fee). Along undulating track NW to Stroan Bridge. Then up SW over pathless, thick, dry grass and burned heather, tussocks and bog in places. Where terrain steepens, small section of dead bracken and slabs then onto levelish summit areas with thick grass, heather and slabs. Eastern summit with cairn is lower than western summit with slab but no cairn. Good wild views of forest, lake and upland. Returned over Clack and Slogarie Hills. Breezy sunny day.Denise 21/04/2022

From end of public road to Slogarie, verge parking for 1 car (NX 6525 6891). Took track running N and W, over Stroan Bridge, then direct across very rough ground. Mapped cairn first then 400m further on for the top. Onto Clack and Slogarie Hills. Rained all the way; an unusually unpleasant 10k round.jonglew24/02/2021

Took Raiders Road and parked at Stroan Loch car park (NX6476 7002). Track from back of car park up through a gate onto the viaduct and along to Airie Farm. Followed cow trodden track to mast, then up past animal pens onto open hill. Very long grass and rough walking. Picked up an ATV track at NX62625 69064, and continued up to cairn, then 400m west to rocky summit area. Back across to ATV track on way down and followed it to about 6313 6939 (better not to go to animal pens) Nice walk along dismantled railway, but horrible walking in long grass.LizH25/09/2020

4th tump of 6 on a route from the main Laurieston Forest car park with Adrian climbing Kenick hill, Tormollan hill and Slogarie then via long ride to arrive at Airie Burn in full spate. We were forced up past another stream before jumping over then up through heather and tussocks to visit cairn then over the summit plateaux to higher knoll near immature spruce tree. Descent and onwards to Clack Hill.Dazingdale16/03/2019

Parked beside Stroan viaduct. Followed the track and then into the forest - poor decision. Came back using animal tracks towards Airie farm. Dreadful underfoot.chrisbien09/10/2010
