Nice hill, odd that this falls short of TUMP status but has grand views and is aesthetically a hill (in inverted commas) unlike nearby peurile tickers peaks Pistern and Chellaston Hills, which in comparison are total rubbish | Nick Canute | 23/06/2022 |
Drove to summit to save time as now twilight and want to collect some more hills. Shame as probably a nice little walk. | Wycombe Wanderer | 23/09/2021 |

From village to the south and through churchyard to the summit west of the church. Descended north to Wilson. | KeithByTheC | 25/05/2021 |
Cycled up, after leaving the Cloud Trail. Decent views. | Joel451 | 17/02/2021 |
There was a funeral on in the churchyard but the HP given is on a bank fairly close to the path that runs behind the churchyard. I had the secateurs and, even with them it was unpleasant fighting through a mixture of dense, thorny trees and brambles. | clivevilla | 02/12/2020 |

Bank against churchyard wall is probably the closest point to the July 2020 highpoint without a thorny thrash through the undergrowth. | PGCE | 05/08/2020 |
Cycled 4 hills today, bit of a big one, but back before lunch. Brands Hill summit can be reached by following the outside of the field, Breedon hill is beautiful and can be see from quite a way off, Pistern hill, nothing but a tick and the views over the trent valley from Gotham hill were lovely. Woulld have been nice to stop somewhere for lunch, but that's lockdown | Nicky C | 11/04/2020 |

Drove up and had a wander around at dusk, visited both tops. Interesting place. | rhalstead | 03/03/2019 |
Walked up from village. Went to both mentioned HPs but one in grave yard at back of church near entrance to green lane higher. | PeterD | 02/09/2018 |
10 mile walk /run from home nearby. | gbeniston | 20/08/2018 |
Delightful hill - and you can drive up it! Last hill with a church on top since Brent Tor in 2011. My last Leicestershire tump. | arranc | 13/07/2018 |
I walked over to the summit after looking at the church | Alancache | 05/04/2018 |
With Jo, from church car park. Strolled round all likely places but unable to determine exact top, boulder at entrance and gate in green lane seemed to be highest spots. Weather; sunny, warm, good visibility. | amblerbob | 26/03/2018 |
Parked in Church carpark. | David Evans | 10/03/2018 |
En-route from Porton Down to West Yorks with Carole Engel. Easy bag in church yard. Church FS used by OS as a trig intersected station. | jonglew | 26/12/2017 |

Visited with my wife, Sharon. Drove up after breakfast at the garden centre. Had a good look around the churchyard, all very pleasant. Some good views. Did both high points mentioned in other logs. They seem to be of similar height. | Richard Gunn | 01/09/2017 |
Great view of hill and church when approaching the village from the south. Sense of calm when walking round the churchyard and inside the church, where the stained glass windows are impressive. | JohnW | 21/05/2017 |
Fine looking church. High points appear to be at entrance to car park and green lane behind churchyard to WSW. | Aye Jimmy | 07/05/2017 |
Drive up to church car park then a grand walk along the road and around the graveyard. Stunning view later from the east of church above the quarry. | Dugswell2 | 01/03/2017 |
Drove up to the car park and had a walk about in the graveyard. With Coel & Sail. | Dangerous Dave | 25/02/2017 |

Bagged whilst on New Year family circular walk from Melbourne up to Breedon Hill to visit the church then back to Melbourne vis The Pool | dazedemon | 02/01/2017 |
Great viewpoint. Nice sunset on a drab November day. Summit could be verge next to road just before car park or adjacent to wall at west side of churchyard. Incredibly well preserved old gravestones due to use of local hard slate. | Jemma Singer | 12/11/2016 |

With Wendy. Very old Saxon stone carvings embedded in interior wall from previous church on this site. Craft centre with cafe in the village below, selling the most enormous home made pies I've ever seen, and the second biggest scones. | ijpowell | 04/06/2016 |
What a fascinating little hill the most NWesterly of Leicestershire's stumps is with an east facing cliff as part of a quarry and a lovely church on the summit. | vegibagger | 06/04/2016 |
Highest point in graveyard | davidpettit84 | 21/02/2016 |
5 mile walk. Wilson to edge of Melbourne, south and then south west into Breedon. Up the road to top of hill, down path on other side, back up to Wilson. | callumorr | 21/02/2016 |
First of 14 tumps completing Leicestershire today. Church car park strewn with litter. | ngthack | 14/02/2016 |
A stiff cycle up from the village. Round House in village worth a visit (Door not locked). Long horned sheep (Manx Loaghton?) in neighbouring field look best avoided. Church a glow in lowering sun light. Good view of the quarry from the beacon fire basket. Hill high point by gate in church yard wall WSW of church. | RichardM | 09/02/2016 |

A striking old church atop a half quarried prominent hill (its only the presence of the church and its graveyard that has prevented the quarry eating away the whole hill) - Walked up steep path from the village to find a wedding crowd and photos underway in churchyard. Mingled with the crowds onto the highpoint trying to keep out of the photos. | Chris Pearson | 08/08/2015 |
