With Gina. First hill since rupturing achilles 7½ weeks ago on Strathfinella Hill. Parked in parking area with lots of signs about controlled parking only for church visitors, so I guess we qualify. Wandered around back of church to find highest point near knarled tree and grave of George Prusseel, only to find triangle on HB located at front of church near churchyard entrance. I think it is higher round the back.mntainman25/11/2023
Ascended from Horne Row NT car park. View back SSW is worth seeing. High point either by the base of the communications mast or by the wall to the NW of the church.Vulcan22/10/2023
Walked St Peter's Way from Mundon to Bicknacre, bagged the tump, though the top may have been on a grave so opted for the tree.PhilipChaston29/01/2023

With Sarah and Kieron. From church car park through gate and right to second tree (summit as favoured by some), then through churchyard (passing other options) and southwards for view. Sunny and hot. Back to car park and across to The Griffin for refreshment. NOTE: crossing the road to and from pub very daunting at rush-hour.mainnirnamfiadh05/07/2017
Greeted by the 09:45 ring of bells, lovely then on to view the water tower.Dugswell205/03/2017
Have climbed this hill many times as part of a circular, 'Wildside Walk' laid out by Essex County Council. Excellent views to the south today and lovely autumn colours in the woods around.ajd5828/10/2016

Morning walk before work. Not excuse for not logging this one before as its less than a kilometer from my work. Lovely sunny morning, good views to the south. Church yard is open all the time so easy acess. Parking area outside the church. Last year the church opened up the tower for a day in the summer, great view from the top all the way across to kent. http://www.stjohnbaptistchurch.org.uk/welcome.htmOne man Bucket 24/05/2016
A tranquil beautiful churchyard of the Grade 1 listed St John The Baptist whose spire can be seen for miles around .During the Napoleonic wars from 1780 to 1815, large numbers of troops were stationed in Danbury as protection from possible invasion. The high ground was ideal for keeping watch over the neighbouring estuaries (with a telescope presumably from this distance?)Chris Pearson18/05/2016

Walked up from 55m contour line in Danbury Common. Arrived to find a school party sitting on summit being given a RS lesson. After having lunch on bench in churchyard at back, the school party had been taken into the church. I stood on summit as mentioned by a previous log, but on searching around concluded summit to be a bump by a grave round the back or possibly the path near the mast. A lovely spot, my 2nd tump on a tour of 4 Essex tumps that day. Nice and sunny!pdantic15/07/2015
According to an old timer walking his dog (he was born and bred in the village), the highest point lies against the wall on the right as you enter the churchyard. Baggers should walk through the churchyard and go for about 100m along the right of way where the vista opens up to give a great view over most of Essex.moorsman06/07/2015
Last of Essex Tumps for me. HP in churchyard or path next to mast.Brodie08/04/2015
