Parked layby to north and along edge of barley field before entering woods. Luckily one of us had long trousers to beat a path through the nettles. | Crumblie2 | 19/06/2023 |

Parked in layby to north. Along field edge then through nettles to top. | PGCE | 27/02/2020 |
2nd Tump of 6 today, after Knights Hill and exploring Castle Rising. As others i parked beside entrance to the farm and Eggs for sale sign. Walked up road and then over gate and along till picking a good spot to climb over fence. Atmospheric Mound with Yew tree grove on top. I also explored high ground in the woodland about 25m South of 88m spot height and got the same reading. Continuation to Egmere... | Dazingdale | 22/02/2020 |

New water pipe trench being dug on north approach up field edge leading to the water towers. Lovely conical compact motte (Mount) hidden in summit trees. The adjacent village was often known as dry Docking due to a shortage of water on its higher ground position - until a 230 foot deep well was dug to reach the water table - charged at a farthing a bucket, until piped water arrived in the 1930s. A WW II airfields was by the village here, home of RAF Coastal Command and Canadian RAF, earlier before WW I another trench was dug here, this one grimly being a practice trench for the horrors of trench warfare. | Chris Pearson | 22/04/2019 |

Parked in lay by at West Hill Farm. Digger in field but early morning so no problem in accessing top. | Bramley | 11/04/2019 |
Walked up edge of field to discover water tower near the summit | Alancache | 19/10/2018 |
Private property sign on track to east so parked on sand lay by near West Hill Farm to north, along field edge into wood through stinging nettles to mound. Best to leave this until crop harvested. | rogreeves | 10/08/2018 |
From lay-by to north along field edge and up mound. | PeterD | 13/04/2018 |

After a host of dreary hills, this little hill has a nice surprise at the top. The Mount was covered in snowdrops with daffs in abeyance due to the late spring. Norfolk completed along with a catchment area and a watershed plus Suffolk in the same day. Wish the hills had been as exciting. | Campbell Singer | 16/03/2018 |
Bircham Tofts to Ingoldisthorpe. Vegetation is the only barrier when wandering up from the woodland to the S. Anyone apprehended trespassing can expect to experience the delights of The Cage near road junction to NE (or The Pound for stray animals)! | Smudge | 13/01/2018 |
Curious c8 m by 15m mound covered in nettles and yew trees. Accessible along field boundary to N where there is a convenient lay-by by West Hill Farm. Next to obvious white concrete water tower. Clear cold and sunny. | Denise | 08/12/2017 |
Easily from the N along field margin. A fine mound in group of Yews and by far the best summit of the day. Now off for a sand blasting on Brancaster beach. | RichardM | 08/12/2017 |
Parked at start of track from the E, along track and into wood, then to large mound at N end. Lot of activity at the water tower going on. | Aye Jimmy | 27/09/2017 |
From road to the north, straight along field boundary and up through waist high soggy nettles. | KC | 20/05/2017 |
Drive in ok on road marked private, leads to houses and turning area. Possible to hop out and visit mound/tower area. Much more interesting the flock of Egyptian Geese wintering in the fields nearby, as many as 40 of them. | nordicstar | 13/01/2017 |

Parked at start of private road, hopped over b/w stock fence and took direct line to wooded area. Found a very distinctive mound covered with chest high dead nettles, just the way I like them! Mound overlooks water works with concrete tower. | jonglew | 23/01/2016 |

Drove up lane to S and parked on verge at SE corner of wood. Walked up field edge to E and was able to crawl under the electric fence to go up rather interesting mound. | GordonAdshead | 14/03/2015 |
