Good shelter from wind in 'cairn' at top and impressive stone row.Dan0106/03/2021
From the South West along the dead end road to the waterworks. Headed across open ground to summit barrow. Saw Ravens Buzzard Skylarks and Stonechats. Lots of grazing ponies and sheep. Very quiet good views to south coast. Little microclimate inside the barrow with a small tree. Natural high point was in the vegetation to west. Walked across to it and then headed back down along the stone row. Time taken 1 hour for just over 3 miles.isabelle30/08/2020
2nd hill of 9 on a route from Moorhaven village to Ivybridge train station, climbing Ugborough Beacon then Nw onto a fp linking with the Two Moors Way veeting off to visit Hobajohns Cross then the Longstone, descending into Piles Copse, forced to crossfurther North as in full spate due to melting snow then steeply up hewding Nwvto the summit. As mentioned, pressive Stone Row to the Nw . Descended too resetvoir and used track on Eastern edge of wood, heading for Hanger Down. .Dazingdale03/02/2019
Parked in large passing place SX 6209 6091. No parking further up lane as farmer has dumped huge boulders - trouble with campingcarole engel27/06/2018
Parked at carpark to NE of Harford, then walked NW over rough ground with some paths and paddled across slimy stones on river bed knee deep- very hot so pleasant. Huge barrow on top with central part built into square walls- presumably this is Hillson's house, reputedly lived in by Hillson, an orphan who made clocks there. Hard to establish base of barrow but apparent natural HP is 90 p W in ferns. larks sang and insects buzzed under very hot blue skiesDenise 18/06/2017
Very limited parking possible down the dead end road to the south west. Through the gate and along the path to the water works. If no one there, walk through the works on a good track and out the other side. Continue on the path for a short distance (away from the summit!) and look for a vehicular track going uphill. This leads to the summit.moorsman19/06/2016
