Revisit, on the way back from Willowgrain Hill.PGCE15/10/2023
Parked at Wanlockhead overflow car park. Took track over shoulder of Black Hill, forking R to Green Hill summit, Stood Hill and along the fenceline before reascending steeply to summit of Willowgrain Hill N of a gate. I followed a largely illusory path marked on the OS Explorer map as running along the flank of Glendyne to rejoin the track below Green Hill.Nick Down123/09/2023
Easy track up from Middle Moortrimarc222/08/2023
after Green Lowther. zig-zagged up shooting trackjef12/06/2023
From Wanlockhead, where a path goes up to Black Hill and on to Green Hill. From here, a narrower path heads to Stood Hill, where a fence line provides a straightforward direction finder to Willowgrain Hill and over to Conrig Hill. Then along the SUW, with a short shimmy to Glengaber Hill, all the way back to Wanlockhead. The industrial history of the village is worth a visit alone. 3.5hrs total, including stops at all the interpretation panels en route.summitter26/01/2023
Black Hill, Green Hill, Stood Hill and Glengaber Hill with return via SUW. 5.2 miles. 1125 ft ascent.DaveGraham 26/01/2023
Parked at roadside in Wanlockhead, by entrance to leadmine overflow car park. Track up to Black Hill (550m) then across rough ground to track which passes near to the summit of Green Hill. Followed fence to Stood Hill then on to Willowgrain Hill. Solo.Dangerous Dave27/10/2022
Solo. From the overspill carpark for the lead mining museum at Wanlockhead straight up the hillside on a path to near the summit of Black Hill, then a short stretch of gravel track followed by a green track that goes close to the summit of Green Hill. For variety descended on the gravel track SE then then northward with a short stretch on the road. Then ascended Wanlock Dod.pwbellarby08/10/2022

Set off from car park at junction with Toll Brae and B797 in snow storm. Followed track up east flank of Black Hill. Down the other side finding marked track on map then right at fence up unmarked track to grassy summit area. Wandered around mostly on right side of track to make sure stood on summit. Returned same way in clear conditionsmntainman06/12/2021
From overflow CP. Without my broken gps I used a map and compass and relying on a crap mobile phone app to register the co-ordinates. To my surprise I reached the top!Jhimmy16/10/2021
Same routes as dbbm0jla18/09/2021
Followed the SUW to Craigy Cleuch then the fence line along to Green Hill then easy path down before you get to Black hill.Fellhugger15/09/2021
2 of 3: After Kirkland Hill we drove to Wanlockhead. Straight up from the overflow CP. With Karen.ChrisR22/07/2021
Parked in the museum overflow car park (872126) (12:05) from where a path leads straight up Black Hill passing close to its top. A graded track then leads past the col and after 200 metres or so a fainter path leads towards the unmarked summit. Back same route; finish 12:50. Cloudy but dry.dbb08/07/2021
From the Wanlockhead overflow carpark (NS 8729 1261). Good track leads up to Black Hill, ~250m on a good vehicle track before heading off on atv track to the hill top. On to the 2 Willowgrain Hills and Brown Hill for an 11km round.jonglew27/03/2021
Parked in the Lead Mining Museum and found a path/track more or less opposite at the side of a house. This led to close to the summit.clivevilla13/10/2020
Parked at Visitors Centre. Up rough ground passed 9 gunmens boxes and onto large track/road. Missed good ATV track and circled hill then up on rough grass and glad to see iron fence post and summit. Made further error coming down and ended up in thick heather. Tired, 50 mins. Headed 4 hours home.Coinneach30/08/2020

Revisit with F on way to Brown Hill, straight up from Wanlockhead Bowling Club.agentmancuso02/07/2020
A nice walk. Parked at the Lead Mining Museum, up the road and onto a grassy ATV track by a grit bin. Easy walking to join a stony track, and then an ATV track heads to the top just past a fence. No idea where the top is, so wandered around all over it trying out the most prominent tussocks. So much more pleasant and interesting than Green Lowther.Gill21/01/2020
Solo trip, quickie from Wanlockhead on my way home. Actually started from near the Mennock Pass at NX873121, where there is a small layby near the start of a hill track. Head south then NW up Black Hill then west to Green Hill.Invicta1424/05/2019
From Wanlockhead up decent ATV track to just under Green Hill. Then poorer track to summit and on over Stood Hill then down and up to Willowgrain Hill. Dropped to Glenlosk burn then up to SUW and on to Glengaber Hill. Returned to SUW and back to car. Summer day in February!SS23/02/2019
