Parked on verge near Shillingland triangle. Took voie normale up access road to farm, then ATV track curving steeply through bracken on R opposite wall and sheepfold. This leads at a steady gradient to the summit, with increasingly wide views. Returned by the ATV track running S near the wall until it reaches the road W of a cattle grid. Low sunlight glinting on Loch Urr.Nick Down104/08/2023
From end of drive to Shillingland up ATV tracks as others.PeteF27/05/2023
From small parking area on minor road S of the hill. Took track to Shillingland for a few yards where an ATV track goes off right and meanders to the summit. From here on to Knockoure a sub-tumpWayne Mac02/04/2023
Solo trip. Preferred to park in a wee quarry a little to SE of Shillingland track. An attractive series of rock outcrops runs from Cats Craig northwards along a fine wall. There is an alternative ATV track here too, joins with the one from farther west. Fine clear evening, Lowthers looking particularly good.Invicta1429/05/2022
Parked by the triangle at the entrance to the Shillingland. Found the ATV track described by previous baggers at NX 78238 84734. This excellent track meanders all the way up to the summit. Solo.Dangerous Dave23/01/2022
Parked on the triangle at the road junction to Shillingland then NE to the summit.Winterfloodian22/10/2021
ATV from track starts at NX 78238 84734 - thanks to carole engel for this as without it we would never have seen the track in the dense bracken. We were just able to follow it winding around the moor to the better going further up.m0jla12/09/2021
From Moniaive to make a day of it. Pleasant enough until I went to Girharrow Hill. Followed wall and fence down - that's the way up!SS03/04/2021
Parked roadside at NX 7837 8462. Found atv track starting 180m up the track to Shillingland, kept to it for around half way up then lost it as snow deepened. Ground thereafter a bit rough but not oo bad.jonglew05/01/2021
Parked at the road end to Shillingland, south of the hill. From here it is a simple walk up to the topSimon Winton08/03/2020
From the Shillingland road triangle, a nice firm parking spot. Along the tarmac to the cattle grid, then up grass, through a ruined wall and to a cairn, to pick up a grassy, frozen ATV track leading to the top. Remarkably good views, with relatively few wind farms.Gill30/01/2019

Not nice. ATV track indistinct (well I missed it anyway), ended up too far west on the way up and too far east on the way down. Featureless hill with unpleasant footing. Forestry at the top has been felled.Owen B04/11/2016
As described by Nordicstar. Route and write-up at: http://gayleybird.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/bogrie-hill-and-fell-hill.htmlGayle31/08/2016

Parked on grass verge just to the east of the Shillingland junction at NX78415 84599 – Direct ascent through the bracken & then across tussock grass and heather to the summit. Should have read recent comments regarding ATV track BEFORE heading off! (S)gerrybowes16/11/2015
With Jenx from the junction of minor road and Shillingland farm, park in the triangle made by the junction. 200 yards up farm road at its high point an ATV track goes up the hill at a small quarry and can be followed direct to the summit. A grey day before the rain, good skies over the Solway.nordicstar08/11/2015

Parked to the east of the Shillingland road where there is a wide space. Found a quad track 200 yards up the farm road which gave a reasonable ascent. Solo in 65 minutes.bolton14/08/2015

An enjoyable yomp on quad tracks from Shillingland tarmac road. Parked near junction. Operate ham radio for summit from top. Authorities have allowed the installation of 3 tall masts in the area to assess for a wind farm.G4OBK (Phil)16/04/2014
