Farm road from Marglolly Bridge, heading up to Muil Hill when SE of summit. A few sheep trods and the occasional ATV track helped, as they did on to Darngarroch Hill and subsequently back down to the farm road at Slongaber. | summitter | 24/07/2023 |
Parked at the second cattle grid on the road to Muil farm. Direct line to Muil hill then onto Darngarroch hill | Andrew Simmons | 28/02/2023 |
From the forest track to the north, up the forest line and then south up the ridge to the top. Very windy. | Tisteln | 30/09/2022 |
Parked at cattle grid (NX 8258 8006) after being refused parking at farm by Mrs Farmer. Took a direct line up to Muil Hill, then on to here over reasonable ground. Farmer passed me on quad bike as I returned to car, put my hand up to him... he blanked me despite me not blocking any access! | jonglew | 18/01/2021 |
Parked at Marglolly Bridge and walked along the road before striking up the hill to the summit. Continued along tussocky ground to Darngarroch Hill before dropping to the building with the same name and followed the path to Westland and out to the road at Slongaber which was followed back to the start. | 3 kinnears | 17/01/2021 |
From Marglolly Bridge via Muil Hill. Going improves a bit as you get closer to Darngarroch. On to Craigdasher Hill. | agentmancuso | 12/09/2020 |
Parked on the verge at the end of the road to Whiteside and followed the forest track to the end of the mature forest, at NX80125 82491. Followed vague animal tracks between the old forest and new planting, to the wall at NX80326 82073. Over mossy, boggy ground and grass to the summit. (3rd attempt at this hill. The forest has roe deer stalking, which can take place any time. Hind cull sign turned us back last year, then friendly stalker in the wood 2 days ago, but he indicated today would be 'stalker free', which worked out for us.) | LizH | 31/07/2020 |

Lovely sunny October day for this plod over dampish upland sheep pasture. Climbed over Muil Hill on way out and back. Met they farmer on his quad, wondering if I was the idiot who left his car in the wide entrance @ Margolly Bridge. Were you expecting a delivery I asked? Then stated that I could drive most lorries passed my car without any problems. | Dugswell2 | 21/10/2012 |
