From Mole's Chamber. Out via Access Land, then boggy field. Continued along to trig, then back across field to road. | PGCE | 27/10/2023 |
Via trig pillar. The flat summit area is a bog. | cjo | 07/04/2023 |
From SE, over gate and followed fence up, to HP and then to trig on embankment. | PeterD | 20/04/2019 |
From Mole's Chamber, parking for couple of cars. Ground still spongey despite recent dry weather. HP at 4-way field bdy, maybe on SE side of junc. | jonglew | 23/04/2017 |
Roadside parking very difficult due to narrow roads. Parked in gate entrance (blocking access) 50m west of the fenceline from the castle. There is a bridle gate giving access from the road up to the castle. Go through a second one into the castle grounds and follow the fenceline round to the summit. Plenty of friendly grazing cattle in upper field. 15 minutes return, less if you are younger and fitter than me! | moorsman | 16/06/2016 |
With Jo, from Mole’s Chamber: via Lew Combe to Shoulsbarrow Common and nearby trig. Weather; cloudy, humid, good visibility. | amblerbob | 01/07/2015 |
3/3 parked just below at layby for start of bridal path crossed two fields and yet more muck. Corner or 4 fields would appear to be highest point | Fergalh | 10/01/2015 |
From tiny lay-by at SS 71745 39285. Summit is fence junction at SS 70970 39296. (476.71m spot height on Old Maps) | David Gradwell | 26/10/2011 |
Gate gave easy access to large rough grassy field – trig at one end (visited) was not as high as spot height 400m east which looked higher until visited then it felt lower. | Chris Pearson | 10/08/2010 |
