Should be called Deeren Hill, astonishing number of red deer. Took me longer to drive to start of walk , than the actual walk because farmer was shepherding his sheep along the road. | Martin R | 19/02/2024 |
From North, from cow castle. Large deer herd. As i approached summit farmer appeared on quad asked i take a diversion so not to spook deer. Continued to road by Horsen farm were my lift was waiting. | cjo | 07/04/2023 |
Parked at 78361 and di first Horsen Hill and then back down and went to Cow Castle. On Horsen Hill there was a herd of maybe 200 red deer who treated me to a display of jumping over a bwf. I also found an antler on the ground. | clivevilla | 09/07/2022 |

Approached from the NW on RsoW, final section over boggy reeds. Apparently a tumulus on top. Sunshine and showers, with rainbows and murky views. Descended east to find bridge on track E of Ferney Ball and then to road at Landacre Gate. Met friendly farmer | Denise | 26/10/2020 |
From Cow Castle on RoW to moorland then over rough pasture to tumulus with raised ring of neat grass. All quite level and difficult to identify a natural high point. | RichardM | 26/10/2020 |
As others parked before Horsen Farm. Then walked a 13km circuit taking in Horsen Hill, Cow Castle and Thornemead Hill | fosal29 | 19/09/2019 |
Parked just before Horsen Farm, Row up to open access land, then to HP. | PeterD | 27/06/2018 |
Parking just before Horsen Farm. The ROW no longer crosses the fields but starts at a stoned track just east of where the map shows the path starting. It is waymarked from here around two sides of the field and then along the field edge to the open access. | moorsman | 16/06/2016 |
From Horsen Farm. RoW has changed, starts now at SS 78348 36625. Followed it initially then deviated through sheep pasture and out onto open access land. Partially hollow bowl barrow at summit. | jonglew | 03/04/2016 |
