Easier than expected using the fire breaks. | Andrew Simmons | 24/01/2023 |

Forest road from Glider sign, then FBs from NW of top. Easier than expected. Back down via Round Fell, down to col on roughish heather then up through trees easily enough. W from there to rejoin forest road just N of bend. | agentmancuso | 29/04/2022 |
Parked on the yellow road and walked up but could have driven. Thankfully the firebreaks were clear of fallen trees, then 200m of heather bashing. | NormanW | 09/04/2022 |

Easy following route described by others. With B and R. | jenx | 20/07/2020 |
Parked at the end of the track to the gliding club (gate was open, but there are padlocks, so didn't risk driving in). Very good firebreak where 'Martin R' references leaving the track, then just a little to the left, in the clearing, for the 2nd, narrow, firebreak (thanks Martin). My reference for it was NX89434 61980. Easy walking at first in the firebreak, then longer heather which continues to the summit. The top of the firebreak is at NX89637 61771, and isn't easy to spot going back. | LizH | 19/03/2020 |

Parked on forest road (NX 8924 6197). Fire break from NX 8933 6200, then another starting NX 8946 6195 led directly to the top. Heavy going through heather once out of the plantation. | jonglew | 20/01/2020 |

Maidenpap and Cuil Hill from start of access track to gliding club. Followed Martin R route to Maidenpap, returned to forest track then steady descent on forest track N, at junction turned SE climbing until approx W of summit. Then followed line of wall initially on ATV track to reach summit ridge of Cuil Hill. | RobertP | 24/11/2018 |

drove up to high point on track then same route as martin R | robertphillips | 10/12/2017 |
Drove up to the gliding club and parked opposite entrance. Followed forest road round until NW of hill and then headed up. The first 100m of forest is awful but there are rides through it all to the forest edge below the summit. Tied a bag to a tree at the boundary so that I could find my way back down. Not pleasant. | Thearlaichdubh | 18/07/2017 |

Forest road past gliding club then easily up through lines of trees to open hillside and hard going through deep heather to summit. Great views, trig, large cairn anfd walls of shooting hut. | RichardM | 12/02/2017 |
Parked at road to avoid getting locked in ( but gate still open when we returned). Followed wide forest track until roughly NW of the hill then thrashed through pine ( surprisingly OK) then over thick open heather to reach top. There is a large cairn, trig and partly ruined brick tower at the top. The wind was strong and cold. We then went north east to Cuil- a thrash not recommended. | Denise | 12/02/2017 |

Road gate locked but bike friendly entrance. Followed wall from NX892619 to the end the next wall NE. Hard work through rubbish. Came back more direct on feint trod through gap to wall summit at NX894615. | Eddie | 23/09/2014 |

Started at NX88438 60919 and left the track at NX89361 62041 (forestry worker told me afterwards that I could have driven there, but I think it depends on whether the gate is open or not) A narrow and hard to find firebreak starts at NX89449 61953 - remember where you exit as it is not obvious on the return. | Martin R | 11/12/2013 |

Parked at start of track to gliding club. Just past the NW/SE wall took the fire break (E). Went to the end where it went onto open ground. Steeply up thick heather with no paths or animal trods. Summit - stone ruin, large cairn and trig. | chrisbien | 25/04/2011 |
