Great views, loads of skeins of geese honking overhead. Couple of showers, slightly wintery otherwise pleasant peak. Company: Soloiandesbottes23/03/2019
Solo. Parked at the Walkers' car park just beyond Broughton Place. Along John Buchan Way and then ATV track from col between Clover Law and Broomy Side up to Green Law and Broughton Heights. Deviated to include Lochurd Hills and rejoined track to reach Brown Dod. Continued to the summit of Flint Hill and descended southwards to reach Stobo Hopehead. Back to car on JBW. Misty on tops to start with but it had lifted by the time I reached the summits.pwbellarby10/01/2019

Excellent loop from Broughton Place up over Green Law, Broughton Heights and Brown Dodd. Decided to leave Penvala for another day and headed back over Hammer Head and Trahenna Hill in glorious conditions.SS13/05/2018
A superb circuit in snow and sunshine from Stobo, taking in Penvalla, Broughton Heights and Trahenna, and all the ups and downs in between. Easy peasy route finding, Southern Upland way, then up Penvalla first, and follow the fences and ATV tracks over the hills. The descent from Trahenna follows the fence (steep, no path), then a small path sneaks round the back of Louden Knowe to pick up an ATV track past a small plantation down to the Lake. Cute path crosses below the lake, then back to the road on a track.Gill09/02/2018
From Broughton Place walkers car park, picked up Trahenna hill on the way back.G4OBK (Phil)02/11/2017

In poor conditions we (GN/DL) decided to cut a direct line from the path in the pass below Ladyurd Hill to this top. Tough ground to cross but it saved a lot of up and down which was preferable in view of the ongoing stormtrimarc208/06/2017
