Similar yo Julie B, but it was freezing cold and i should have had heavier layers on. | VerySlowPlodder | 08/03/2024 |
From the cemetery, along the Cross Border Drove Road, and over the burn through the first gate past the forest, then upward traverse onto ridge. Pick up ATV track to Wether Law. On the way back followed the ATV track all the way along the ridge to the Cross Border trail, then back along the track to the cemetery. 6.6 miles lovely walk. | JulieB | 17/02/2024 |
From Ramannobridge, parked at Damside housing estate. Green Knowe, Hag Law, Wether Law then south west to rejoin forest in. | hummusg | 14/02/2024 |
Parked by cemetery (NT 1653 4851). Drum Maw first, then down and up to here. On to Deans Hill and return for a 8.5k, 2hr round. There are some sub-tumps that could have been included... poor planning. | jonglew | 14/01/2024 |
From Romannobridge (got parked on Halmyre Loan) up Borders Drover Road and then direct up hillside after exit from forest. Returned longer route round by Fingland but had to take shortcut round steep slope to avoid some cows.

from track by cemetery at Romannobridge, after forest end, crossed over stream and up to ridge by Hag Law, then along ridge to top. Great view of Pentlands and even Arthur's Seat. Decided to return more directly, but wouldn't recommend it unless you enjoy climbing deer fences and crossing VERY uneven newly replanted forest. | IanHHill | 18/10/2023 |

Good round of 4x400m hills east of Biggar this afternoon together with Dave. Wether Law 479m the highest and most prominent top of the day, but for a change, no Wetherspoon pub also called in at along the way. | Alex C | 28/12/2022 |
Parked just off the A701 at Romano Bridge by the start of Cross Borders Drove Road. Lovely path uphill. On exiting the woods we crossed Finland Burn then up grassy hillside onto ridge. Easy walking to the trig on summit. Descended southwards over Green Knowe and crossed Flemington Burn then up to Wide Hope Shank. With Alex C. | Dangerous Dave | 28/12/2022 |
3/3 Marilyns. Parked at cemetery. Well marked drovers path. Headed to Green Knowe thinking this was going to be a good ridge walk, nope. Descending I went straight for a bridge at NT 182 475 and a ATV track back to drovers road. | Jhimmy | 08/10/2022 |
Wretched new track from Flemington. Nice perambulation along the ridge. On to Crailzie Hill. | Wycombe Wanderer | 07/08/2022 |
From cemetery along Cross Borders Drove Road then up Hag Law on to Wether Law. Short cut down to track involved a couple of hundred yards of bracken bashing. | the pigguy | 04/08/2022 |
Parked at end of Halmyre Loan and followed track up through Rommano Mains farm the good track/ATV track to south of Hag Law then North up Hag law and on to Wether Law. Off the suit returning SW on the same ATV track the off to head down to cross Fingland Burn and rejoin original route. Follow the Drove Road markers rather than return through farm...big mistake! Very narrow path overgrown with nettles! Continued on Drove Road back to Halmyre Loadn. Brilliant sunshine, lots of gates and many insects. | Jubilado | 07/07/2022 |
Parked outside the cemetary at 165486. A delightful walk on a good track to 180475. Downwards to the Fingland burn and then an ATV track can be followed before heading off to the summit. Solo. Great day! | bolton | 01/06/2022 |
With David Alexander. From Damside (13:10), walked up Drove Road to the end of the woodland then down, across stream and steeply up grassy ridge. Followed track along ridge top to summit. Lovely day, good views. Returned more or less by same route; finished about 16:10 | dbb | 27/02/2022 |
From Newlands Church, over Whiteside Hill, White Knowe, Drum Maw and on to Wether Law. Down to Fingland Bothy (locked) for lunch and walk out. | Fife Walking | 23/10/2021 |
From NT 222499, took bad approach through woods south east of the summit, best way is probably via the ride which leaves the forestry track at NT 202486. We came back that way. | G4OBK (Phil) | 25/08/2021 |
Easy roadside parking on the Cross Border Drove Road in Damside at NT 1673 4860 - SW through a couple of pedestrian gates & then SE up to the end of the plantation at 180475 - Dropped down, across burn & then up to ridge, making use of available sheep trods - ATV tracks to trig point. Descended SSW, making use of a decent ATV track on way down to Fingland bothy (still locked due to COVID-19) & then ATV track & drove road back to car. (S) | gerrybowes | 05/06/2021 |
1 of 3: From Newlands Church. With Karen. | ChrisR | 10/09/2020 |
Parked at school (pavement) then to Cross Borders Drove Road. Cut down and across Fingland Burn and up to ridge. Returned by bothy (locked presumably due to COVID) on excellent track. | SS | 23/08/2020 |
From the cemetery, up the excellent track to the long ridge walk? With Brian and Janice. Fab views. | Play2End | 01/08/2020 |
Parked off A701 by Noblehouse, then walked south between the two woods, then SE over newly planted ground, two deer fences to climb, to the top. Easy 1hour 10 mins | Simon Winton | 21/02/2020 |
Parked outside Romanno House in Damside and headed up the Drovers Path until out of forest strip. Then straight up a grass track to Drum Maw. From summit we went SE, re-connecting with the Drovers Path as it skirts Green Knowe. Followed it up the southern flank of Green Knowe, where a 4x4 track heads over its top and all the way on to Hag Law and Wether Law. Superb sunny afternoon so spectacular view to the Pentlands and beyond. From Wether Law aimed for Deans Hill, skirting the forest, and then SW back to the Drovers Path. Great walk - 2.5hrs total. | summitter | 29/11/2019 |
Solo. Parked at layby at Newlands School. After ascending Drum Maw went down to Fingland Burn and up SW ridge to Wether Law. Returned over Deans Hill and Cross Borders Drove Road. It was a beautiful sunny day with a gentle breeze. Visibility was excellent so there were long-distance views in all directions. | pwbellarby | 17/09/2019 |
From Halmyre Mais, parking at fenced-off buildings and taking the path around the back. Had to avoid cattle higher up. | curlebd | 17/02/2019 |
From Halmyre Mains. Up the track through fields and then the forestry; track follows the mapped fire break into an unmapped new plantation. The track continues through this. Hacked down one of the trenches (dry) SE to the tussocky bog/stream, across a short stretch of nasty trenches, over the deer fence and a wall/BWF onto the open hill. Easy climb to the trig, with an ATV track to follow when it went in a sensible direction. It's easier going down N-ish across the stream to the edge of the old forestry, then follow the wall upwards to the wall/deer fence around the new plantation, where the deer fence turns 90 degrees. Wriggle through a hole in the wall, then follow a vague track NW a short distance along the deer fence, and climb it to join a section of old track, which joins the main track back. I'm sure there are better routes. | Gill | 19/01/2019 |
Solo trip, from the east (park at NT222499) through the forest then up a firebreak WNW of Peat Hill. | Invicta14 | 22/07/2018 |
From junction between B7059 and A701. Track up to square forstry area (newly planted). Continued along track which emerges from forestry on NE edge. Stayed within forestry, following path along NE boundary fence. Direct from E corner to summit. | raffemeister | 27/04/2018 |

Morning walk with Frances - crisp blue sky day with good views to Pentlands | langskill | 24/04/2016 |
High pressure with temp at 15 C when started. No wind and T shirt for whole walik. Parked at Newlands Community Centre in Rommano Bridge and ascended by the Cross Borders Drove Road path | Danmawr | 20/04/2016 |
No-one has mentioned the Cross Borders Drove Road, which I think was opened recently and can be used to reach Wether Law from the west (Damside) or east (Eddleston or Peebles), possibly with a bike. The bits I've been on are pleasant. Or you could visit this in between Tumps, which is what I did. | Pete R | 12/03/2016 |
Ascended from Halmyre Mains. Avoided the track through the wood only to find it has been extended to the North East. Good weather here but wet on the hills further North and West. | JohnW | 20/10/2015 |

from halmyre mains track through woods in a blizzard. | robertphillips | 10/01/2015 |
Good view point and a trig. Found a great way through forest that lost very little height from the Peat Hill trig. | BigJ | 16/10/2014 |
High cloud, some drizzle, wind on top, average views. | iangalbraith | 04/01/2014 |
Final Marilyn of 2013. Easy ascent from Halmyre Mains where there is parking. Much of wood now felled making it even easier | Thearlaichdubh | 31/12/2013 |
Revisited to celebrate Colin's 600th Marilyn (second round) and Rick's 700th Marilyn, with Douglas, Jen and Alan. From Drum Maw. | agentmancuso | 18/08/2012 |
Revisited to celebrate Colin's 600th Marilyn (second round) "Hall of Mirrors" and Rick's 700th Marilyn, with Colin Crawford, Bernie Hughes, Jenny Hadfield, Rick Salter and Alan Dawson from Newlands church, via sub-Hump Drum Maw on an initially grey day, improving to good visibility and sunshine. A fine summit party was had due to goods found in Colin's rucksack. Then onto a sub Marilyn and a P30. | Dugswell2 | 18/08/2012 |
Colin's Hall of Mirror's entry. W Jenx, Dugswell, Alan D and Bernie from Newlands church, via sub-Hump Drum Maw on an initially grey day, improving to good visibility and sunshine. A fine summit party was had! | nordicstar | 18/08/2012 |

From Halmyre Mains, square forest on map now demolished and track extended to Fingland Burn. Hill in mist, TP cracked 1/3 way up. | Aye Jimmy | 13/11/2011 |
My 850th Marilyn. Easy climb from Halmyre Mains. Track a bit tricky to find at start. Forest is being felled so skirted it to east. | chriswatson | 09/08/2011 |
