Tried but failed to park to south so parked to north of A369 road in Easton in Gordano in St George's Close. Followed pleasant, wooded RoW south. (Coombe Lane). At path junction an informal steep vegetated path (presumably linked to pheasant rearing) goes west to field boundary. Crossed grassy field SW to hedgeline summit. (thick brambles to south). | Denise | 23/07/2023 |
From the N along delightful wooded valley with 2m deep river gully. 30m S of where track crosses the river a thin path ascends steeply up through the open deciduous woodland to gain the summit field. Easily along the hedge line to the summit area. Summit is field of pasture with a square concrete base. I guess the fence crosses the high point but ground on SW Side of fence could be a little higher but has impenetrable vegetation of Nettles, Bay willow herb, Brambles, Elderberry and vines of Old man’s beard. Good views of the Avon Bridge and Severn Estuary. Sunshine mainly clear skies | RichardM | 23/07/2023 |
Parked in St George's Close in Easton-in-Gordano and headed S on ROW through wooded combe (with large oak blocking path at one point). On reaching Combe Lane followed field edge to upper gate into summit pasture. Took the easier route along the private tarmac farm track back. | milimana | 28/11/2022 |
Left Prem Inn at Taunton at 8am and left the M5 at J19. There really is a place to park by reversing up the old lane leading to the start of the footpath starting N of the hill. Up ROW and then up the narrow strip of woodland. Halfway up this becomes a pheasant track with easy access to the top field containing the top. Much easier than I expected. - And then back to Manchester. | GordonAdshead | 29/08/2022 |
As Chris Peart. Returned via gate onto lane NE for a direct return to main road, only seeing GOML sign at the main road. | PGCE | 05/08/2021 |

From night sleep spot on minor road to the south. Row footpath, track between dry bracken leaning on of the banks, west into another field, cuts to west another gate, north to NE corner under south side of hill and traverse across to North end and another gate with short track through very short stretch of sidings final gate and left, west gently up summit field. | vegibagger | 24/07/2018 |

Parked ST509743 in a gateway which didn't look well used. Met a bull on the way up who seemed docile enough. On the way back his cows had moved to block the gate and as I walked through them he got very agitated and moved to defend them. Fortunately he was all bluff and bluster. Summit by hedge on far side of wood, close to a hardstanding. Amazing that an industrial view of Avonmouth and the M5 flyover could be so appealing. | Herbert Anchovy | 25/07/2017 |
