Disappointed there's not a trig on Trigon hill.Martin R05/09/2023
Verge parking at SY 89583 90630 and followed track in from the north. The track now ends by the quarry edge at SY 89181 89956 near the 41M spot height. Not much to see around here: the grid ref for high point is in the quarry area and the tumulus is now island amidst the quarrying and landfil. There is a lot of heavy plant in the area and a lot of the quarry area is in the final stages of landfill, I suspect that in a few more years this will be pleasant grassland. Went on Sunday, quarry/landfill deserted.DC11main13/08/2023
Parked in layby just N of North Trigon. ROW west, then looped back to track passing caravan site (says no admission at entrance off road, but this is access to caravan site so would probably be okay to walk). Followed track S then along edge of quarry and went to most obvious remaining highpoint - the tumulus (GPS gave 51.8m). Crossed quarry to potential highpoint to NE but this was lower (small part of 50m ring contour on Geograph map has now gone). Sunday morning, nobody about.PGCE03/10/2021
Sadly this hill really is no more. The position of the spot height was from the look of the map well inside the quarry and since then the pit has been extended. The highest spot height on the 1:25k is 41m not the 53m mentioned here meaning the 35m prominence was already reduced to less than 30m. I visited the highest point on the western side of the quarry and the promontory with the barrow is now an island in the quarry and not discernibly any higher. Very sad this was probably once a lovely hill.Swindon Bagger06/04/2021
Not ticked. Parking SE in the forest car park. Took ROW to fenced off site. Visited all high points SE side but didn't have enough time to explore NW side which looked higher. Will revisit when i get the chance.fosal2902/02/2020
For anyone reading this before the watershed suffice to say that crawling through rhododendrons to get to one of the possible high points is not something I wish to repeat in a hurry. The current tree/ rhoddy high point (s) rising above the flooded pit may go as expansion work was applied for last year to get at more Ball Clay. This is used for fine ceramics and, I read, is recognised as a mineral of national importance in the UK, of high export value and comparatively rare occurrence, not only in Britain but also in the world. I carted off a couple of large dollops of the wretched stuff stuck to my boots. Main quarry gate padlocked shut on a Sunday morning, with automatic pumping into a sludge lagoon accounting for the noise on approach.Chris Pearson10/03/2019

Circular walk from Wareham having sailed from Lymington the previous day. Access from dirty bridleway around scrap yard to NE. Not a lot of Trigon Hill left, highest natural point is topped by pines at N end of large quarry now being used for land fill. Large flat topped heap of flints / stones close by is higher. (Landfill opening times Mon to Fri 07:30 to 16:30, Sat 07:30 to 11:30)RichardM05/03/2016

From ESE, forest car park. Unnatural HP is large pile of 'live' gravel near N end of quarry, several metres higher than anything else. All quiet there but sporadic landfill activity. Sat am not best time to be here.RHW27/02/2016
Landfill site to south, HP currently in sand quarry. Seems like the top of the hill is now a large hole. Wandered around the place as no operations on a Sunday and covered several high points but feel this one needs surveying and possibly re-classifying. Didn't see any security, but then we walked in from the SE, parking in one of the Wareham Forest parking areas at Cold Harbour so avoiding the main quarry entrances where any security hut might be located.jonglew13/12/2015
Did all possible high points around the sand quarry/landfill site. No operation on Sundays but security in hut.Adrian19/07/2015
