Easy walk from the parking spot where The Ridgeway leaves the road to the SW. Lovely little summit with a profusion of scabious, knapweed, lady's bedstraw. Shame I had to remove the litter of two discarded beer cans; fortunately they were unopened; unfortunately they were Budweiser.milimana24/07/2020

Prominent grass topped knoll in fields on NW side of the Ridgeway. I approached along field edges to the SE but much easier would have been the path from the track on the W side.RichardM30/03/2017

The strip lynchets to the east (shown on map) are notable fine examples of a type of terracing caused by ancient cultivation on a slope as earth builds up on the downslope side of a field. The conservation group of Hinton Parva, a village built at the foot of the north slope, on the spring line where chalk meet clay, are trying to preserve its old english village feel -even though it is largely empty by day as it is lived in by commuters like so many rural villages. However there are two farms and stables so they are pleased that tractors and horses can be seen throughout the day giving life to the village. They are less pleased by a modern house that does not fit in with the style of the neighbouring manor house.Chris Pearson25/05/2016
