Started from top of Westfield Lane outside of radio station. As you leave Etchingham take the left hand fork, in spite of 5mph limit and speed bumps it is the best option as the right fork is little more than a farm track. Went to the trig pillar first then took circuitous route to hp to cover other likely bumps. Returned to van where ealier there was another small car with middle to late aged lady alone in outdoor gear. THinking she may be a fellow bagger I waved and smiled. She returned the smile. Then drove off. No more logs for today on hill-bagging or peakbagger, but unsure why elese anybody would be in such an out of the way place.mntainman15/03/2024
On the way home from a 3 week motorhome trip round France and Spain. Bagged a couple after the ferry home with the kids. Managed to get the moho up to the radio station so short walk to this one. Onto summerhouse hill 2.25 milesThe-Z-Man10/08/2022

Detour from NDW. Had to be careful not to disturb a field full of cows with calves!!lerritt20/06/2020
Parked off bottom of Westfield Lane. Up to compound and tumulus in rain and thick mist.Bramley01/11/2019
Parking at end of Westfield Lane, by the BT compound. The barrow didn't feel like the HP, had a walk around but nothing really jumped out so guess it probably is.jonglew10/11/2018
From Blackhouse Hill, on Elham Valley Wayrfoster20/04/2018
Drove as far down the road to tyhe north as I could and then carried on on foot. The trig point looked higher than the tumulus to me.clivevilla18/04/2018
Ascent from the south and then to the east.brandybordeaux16/09/2017
Bagged as YSM0381 Tolsford Hill. Bagged by night - bonus IS for the mast. Lots of cows in the field and after a few close encounters I am very unsure of them, however these lot seemed a friendly bunch and although they stayed quite close to the scratching post (aka pillar) they didn't bother us. Woo hoo! #11 day#1 - now dark ;-)thejackrustles18/08/2017
Walked up to here from Summerhouse Hill. I was surprised how large the summit area was.Alancache26/04/2017
Tumulus SW of main aerial complex ( helpfully marked by a star by the army) is HP according to Abney level, though trig to S felt higher. Daffodils around trig. The BT aerial thinks it is in eastern Europe in view of its unusual concrete design and is adjacent to various buildings in a compound. It is possible to park at the end of track to N, but we walked from Summerhouse Hill to S ( recommended).Denise 22/04/2017
Sandling stn - Blackhouse Hill - Summerhouse Hill - Tolsford Hill - Cheriton Hill - Sugarloaf Hill - Swinge Hill - Folkestone station. A strong contender for best Tump walk in Kent? Summerhouse and Sugarloaf are remarkable hills.Mark Jackson04/03/2017
Although it is possible to drive up to mast via Westfield lane and speed ramps, made a short walk by parking at the bottom of the lane.Presumably, pleasant views on a clear day.catman12/12/2016
Tumulus c.1.5m high in rather level area.RHW21/02/2015
Sandling circular. GPS seemed to confirm tumulus near transmitter as the HP although trig felt higher.Smudge05/04/2014
