From the Cheviot on my way to Windy Gyle as part of the Cheviot Six 26mile hike.NorthernWayfarer08/08/2019
Circular route from Langleeford. Up to Housey Crags > Long Crags > Hedgehope Hill > Comb Fell > Cairn Hill > Cairn Hill West Top > Auchope Cairn > The Cheviot > Scald Hillthecoopers08/08/2019
Solo from Cocklawfoot farm, along E/NNE track to stand of trees; mistakenly I left track by gate on R to walk parallel to Cheviot Burn through v wet ferns and up steeply on ferns and scree to gain ridge of Auchope Rig, contiuing, veering to R of Refuge Hut and up fence past Auchope Cairns and onto paved section of Pennine Way to reach path junction with Cheviot and Windy Gyle signposted. No marker found for CHWT, then returned down to Hut for lunch and back down Rig, keeping on fence to junction of 4 fences and thence onto track past tree stand and onto C farm - the route I should have used on outward walk ! Three showers fell but the forecast thunderstorms did not arrive, however boots were saturated by the ferns of the morning. First visit was also solo on 11/10/2015,making the circuit from Windy Gyle.jacobus11/07/2019
From arking area at end of road leading to Langleeford.Short walk up road to permisive path over Scald Hill to the Chevot. Then on to Cairn Hill with an out and back to Cairn Hill West Top and Auchope Cairn. Descent then to Harthope Burn then rough going up to Comb Fell in and out of ditches and ankle deep bog. Easier going down and up to Hedgehope Hill before descending back to car via a climb up Hosey Crags.mart079702/07/2019
nuttalls route 8.1 from small car park at GR NT 95393 22520 followed the well marked path up and over Scald Hill and along the fence till you come to the corner and the hill rises this climb is harder than it looks up to the summit plato which is now flagged it wasn't 24 years ago when i did it with my dad going over North east top and then onto the summit its self you will be thankful off that path as its extremely boggy on this summit hedding down the path you come to the ex nuttall Cairn hill i headed off to then pick off cairn hill west top and another ex nuttall Auchope Cairn a lovely little summit in Scotland for the true summit anyways as is the summit of cairn hill west top hedded back along the path SLABS back to the summit of cairn hill theres a lovely shelter hear that over looks part of Nuttalls walk 8.2 heading down the path and over the fence you are then onto bog land small boggy pathes all the way over comb fell and all the way to Hedgehope hill where there is aDarren-44325/05/2019
From Cucklawfoot, where there's good space to park. Took the track past the forest and up onto Mallie Side on sheep tracks. Rough walking on indistinct vehicle track higher up until after the boundary fence where we picked up the Pennine Way. Not obvious until you stumble on it in the deep heather! Followed the Way over Cairn Hill W top, and descended past the refuge hut and down Auchope Rig. Pleasant circuit.LizH21/04/2019

Circular route from parking area at Langleeford: Hedgehope Hill, Comb Fell, Cairn Hill, Cairn Hill West Top, The Cheviot, then back to Langleeford via Scald Hill. Super sunny day with dry conditions which made easier work of areas of blanket bog on Hedgehope Hill & Comb Fell. I met a basking viper just above parking area on my return to Langleeford!Cas-gwent18/07/2017
Cheviot horseshoe anticlockwise, including a quick detour to Auchope Cairn. Still a bit boggy at both sides of Comb Fell, I wouldn't want to try this one without this week's heatwave!the_adam24/06/2017

Hangingstone hill summit not marked, but clear enough where the high point is (its in the heather!!)stig_nest10/05/2014
