11:30, 18 degrees, light cloud, increasing sun, south-westerlies. A nice lady with an old-fashioned cut-glass accent directed me to a small car park at the bottom of the track to Pykestone Hill. Very easy ascent on track, much of it pleasantly grassy. Increasingly purple with height. | Wycombe Wanderer | 08/08/2022 |

I went south today to get three Donalds and a Donald Top from Drumelzier in the Scottish Borders south east of Biggar.
I walked up Den Knowes to the 1st Donald, Pykestone Hill (737m) then north east to the Donald Top of The Scrape (719m). Followed by a traverse back over Pykestone Hill to the 2nd Donald, Middle Hill (716m) when the fog finally cleared to give great views toward the Lowther Hills, Culter Fell and Tinto. Then a walk over to the 3rd Donald, Drumelzier Law (668m), before descending Finglen Rig back to the start point in Drumelzier village, 05:30hrs all in.
I made the mistake of take my canvas hiking boots so my feet were soaking, but it was still enjoyable day out, as I got a view later on. | chillyman8 | 25/07/2020 |

Small car park in Drumelzier at 136340. A clockwise circuit of the Donalds/Donald Tops above Drumelzier, visiting The Scrape, Pykestone Hill, Middle Hill, Taberon Law & Drumelzier Law. Apart from a bit of rough going on the walk out to Taberon Law, good terrain with well-used paths & tracks. (S) | gerrybowes | 20/03/2019 |
One of the annoying tops missed when doing the Donalds. However this turned out a pleasant stroll up forest track to the right of Hallmanor Burn. At top of track it was easy enough to find access to open hillside and easy ground by fence up to summit. | AndrewFinnimore | 20/09/2018 |
From Pykestone Hill. Continued to Scawd Law. Solo. | Man of Kernow1 | 20/04/2018 |
Alone, on damp and cloudy circuit from Drumelzier. | Grinner | 17/12/2017 |
From Drumelzier taking track to below Pykestone Hill then contour to The Scrape. Over aforementioned summit then along on ATV tracks to Middle Hill. Thought about Taberon Law but instead headed straight back over Drumelzier Law and down via Logan Head to the car. | SS | 05/11/2017 |
From Drumelzier. Scrape Hill, Pykestone Hill, Grey Weather Law, Long Grain Knowe, Middle Hill, Drumelzier Law. Good traks and paths for most of route. | RobertP | 07/10/2017 |
Solo, after leaving J on summit of Pykestone Hill, went directly along fence to TS. On return, cut off, at col TS/PH, W contouring (roughly)to re-join upward track and back, joining J for lunch at twin tree-plantations, to Drumelzier. Weather was fine although a little blowy on top, making it feel cold. First visit was on 13/10/2015.Third visit was solo on 24/05/2021, coming from Pykestone Hill and returning to col TS/PH, then cross-country, halting for a brief lunch out of the cold NW wind in the lea of PH, to re-join track and down to P at Drumelzier; rain was all around but I received only one shower. | jacobus | 25/06/2017 |
15.8 Mile walk in perfect weather from parking area near Kirkhope Burn, walked along road to end and up good footpath to ridge across boggy col and up to Greenside Law, across head of Manor Valley on track to Notman Law, out to Cramalt Craig, and back along to Fifescar Knowe then Dollar Law, down a long way and back up to pathetic lump of Long Grain Knowe, out and back to Middle Hill, then along ridge continuation to Grey Weather Law, Pykestone Hill and The Scrape, descended to car via Posso Craig passing very strange and unused trig point down bottom of Northey Knowe hillside. Terrain very easy like walking on a carpet all the way. No people anywhere. | DanTrig | 14/05/2016 |
MMC walk Donald's last Donald. Thick snow on tops. Lovely sunny calm day. 6 hours | alexmaclennan | 16/01/2016 |
Solo; P at Drumelzier, walked up track towards Pykestone Hill but cut off ENE/N to summit cairn of The Scrape. Returned S to PH, then onward to Grey Weather Hill, Long Grain Knowe and Middle Hill to go to Taberon Law. The two Donald Tops were unknown to me in April when I first walked this circuit of Donalds. Weather today was excellent - after a v cold, almost zero, start sun came out although clouds appeared in pm. | seumas | 14/10/2015 |

A big ambitious running bagging day with Darren on snow covered hills from Meggethead. after the awkward outlier of Drumelzier Law from which we dropped east and climbed out to to The Scrape -a long way from our distant finish with time pressing and brief snow showers sweeping in. | Chris Pearson | 12/04/2013 |
