From Drumelzier up Pykestone Hill, Long Grain Knowe, over to Middle Hill, returning by Drumelzier Law. Several windy, sleety showers. Most of high peaks around were covered in cloud, although some good views were seen, including the Pentland Hills and Tinto. With Sally. | Victor | 08/01/2023 |

Parked at the little car park in Drumelzier, up the dead-end road to the SE of the village just past the shed. Great walk over 7 tops, easy underfoot, sunshine all day, pity about the wind. | nicolajane | 19/03/2022 |
After breakfast Frances and I drove to Broughton and then to Drumelzier. It was a bright but chilly blue sky day with a moderate wind. We walked up the track to Pykestone Hill. I was not moving particularly quickly and I also underestimated how close we were to the top of Pykestone Hill. From the trig point on top of Pykestone Hill we followed the fence line over Grey Weather Law and Long Grain Knowe and out to Middle Hill that was the second Donald of the day. As we swung round from Pykestone Hill to Drumelzier Law we were no longer walking into the wind. We doubled back towards Drumelzier Law via Glenstivon Dod. Smoke drifted over the hills from the Manor valley. We descended over Dulyard Brae and Logan Head and down Finglen Rig back to Drumlezier. On Dulyard Brae we passed a family group walking up the hill. | langskill | 19/03/2022 |

Patked in car park at Drumelziewith the “Merlin Trail” plaque. Across the bridge and round the back of the cottage. Weather was gorgeous for November although it clouded up a little in the afternoon. Very few boggy bits and, generally, quite an easy walk. Pykestone Hill first, then Long Grain Knowe, Middle Hill and finally Drumelzier Law. Lovely walk, lovely day out. | tsharp | 06/11/2020 |
CW round from Drumelzier: The Scrape, Pykestone Hill, Grey Weather Law, Long Grain Knowe, Middle Hill, Taberon Law, Drumelzier Law. Easy walking and views across almost all the Borders hills - superb. | Nick Down1 | 27/09/2020 |
I went south today to get three Donalds and a Donald Top from Drumelzier in the Scottish Borders south east of Biggar.
I walked up Den Knowes to the 1st Donald, Pykestone Hill (737m) then north east to the Donald Top of The Scrape (719m). Followed by a traverse back over Pykestone Hill to the 2nd Donald, Middle Hill (716m) when the fog finally cleared to give great views toward the Lowther Hills, Culter Fell and Tinto. Then a walk over to the 3rd Donald, Drumelzier Law (668m), before descending Finglen Rig back to the start point in Drumelzier village, 05:30hrs all in.
I made the mistake of take my canvas hiking boots so my feet were soaking, but it was still enjoyable day out, as I got a view later on. | chillyman8 | 25/07/2020 |

15.8 Mile walk in perfect weather from parking area near Kirkhope Burn, walked along road to end and up good footpath to ridge across boggy col and up to Greenside Law, across head of Manor Valley on track to Notman Law, out to Cramalt Craig, and back along to Fifescar Knowe then Dollar Law, down a long way and back up to pathetic lump of Long Grain Knowe, out and back to Middle Hill, then along ridge continuation to Grey Weather Law, Pykestone Hill and The Scrape, descended to car via Posso Craig passing very strange and unused trig point down bottom of Northey Knowe hillside. Terrain very easy like walking on a carpet all the way. No people anywhere. | DanTrig | 14/05/2016 |
Weather fair. | MountainMac | 25/03/2016 |
Solo continuation from Pykestone Hill over MH and down/up to Taberon Law and back again over MH, making second and third ascents of MH. Then out to Drumelzier Law. First visit, also solo, was 15/04/2015. Fourth visit, again solo, was 17/01/2022, coming from A701 through Hopekist Rig forest track to 152294 exit onto deep heather and steep slope to reach MH summit; brilliant hillwalking day: continued SW to Taberon Law then NW to butt 8 lunch, lost atv on Craig Head turned SE till slope eased down to track to Stanhope and P on A701 for circuit. | jacobus | 14/10/2015 |
Round from Drumelzier. The stick had fallen over. I replaced it & secured it by craftily wedged stones. No need to inform anyone, Play2end. | ngthack | 16/09/2015 |

Third of the day. ascent much nicer compared with Dollar Law but less of a path. really good grassy running along the top with a flat summit and no cairn. | GravelMonkey | 11/06/2015 |
(Continuation of 1847, Pykestone Hill)Crossed fence at NT 168298 gate, between Grey Weather Law and Long Grain Knowe, walked up directly to summit of MH (two posts). Descended slightly onto Glenstivon Dod, lunching at cairn before top; turned NE down to col leading to Drumelzier Law.
