Managed to park in Knapp without obstructing then much as Denise (both tops), then back via Ampfield Wood (406244)- a bit of a random, make it up as I go route but nice open, sunny woodland there. Lovely area of mixed woodland. Not possible to park at North end of road where forest starts but possible in Knapp village eg at SU 405 236 by footpath junction. HP probably at Hawkers Fir Hill within pines but we also visited the somewhat overgrown Little Fir Hill to NE.Denise 27/04/2019

A contrast underfoot between the sticky wet clay around the bottom of the slope and the higher ground above which is well drained sandy soils with lovely rounded pebbles. Summit area is named Hawker's Fir Hill on 1:10000 mappingChris Pearson15/02/2016
