Not ticked. Attempted previous day with Richard and Denise en route to and from Green Scar, 2-3 foot swell at Newgale and about same here, significant wash from west. Quick solo paddle out this pm from Solva, main car park full but used boat club facility just downstream. Swell worse than yday, despite forecast 1-2ft which was correct at Newgale but Gewni was twice that, at high tide, washing around SW and SE corners. Great to paddle thru the natural arch tho, thru the col to circumnavigate the island, and also nose into a few caves on way back. Gorgeous sunny weekend. Needs flat calm forecast it seems. | RHW | 28/07/2019 |
Kayak from Solva on a day so calm you could land anywhere. Easily up from SW corner on good rock. | AndyS | 04/07/2019 |
Kayak from Solva. Parked kayak on intertidal strand at low water. Swam round to SE corner and ascended stable rock. Other corners are available. | jonglew | 15/08/2016 |
Not ticked. Clifftop recce with Adrian. No way down without abseil, and ascent of island from that side looks difficult. Looks OK for boat access with apparent easyish scrambly ascent from SE or SW corners. 24/7 tried from boat but a bit too much movement to land. Ascent looks easy from SW corner. | RHW | 15/05/2016 |
