Anti-clockwise horseshoe with John From Talla Farm - up Erie Hill, Garelet Dod, Cape Law, down to the aptly named Rotten Bottom (deep sections of bog), then up to Firthhope Rig and up to White Coomb's summit. Back to Firthhope Rig, around to Lochcraig Head and tapped the cairn (realised later that's not the summit so need to go back for that Donald). Then headed back East then North to Molls Cleuch Dod (checked the summit location this time), then headed over Carlavin Hill and descended (*very* steeply) NE down to Games Hope Burn and followed the track back out to the car. 21km, 1300m of ascent - 6h 47min including a lunch stop near Lochcraig Head. Sunny but freezing winds up top.mproudfoot14/10/2023
Car near Menzion - forestry track then followed edge of felled block to summit (in trees). Continued on felled edge to Brawns Dod. ATV track to Erie Hill. ATV track on Lairds Cleuch / Garelet Hill out and back and to Garelet Dod and over Stawberry Hill to Fruid. Road back. 13 milesMoorponder11/10/2023

Parked at Fruid dam. Erie Hill, Lairds Cleuch Head, Garelet Hill, Garelet Dod. Didn`t see a soul.colazione18/08/2023
More of a pull up this one as is fitting given its status as a Donald versus the Donald Tops earlier in this round.langskill13/07/2023
3rd of the day anticlockwise. Great views. Solo.bolton15/04/2023

Tough 19 mile circuit of Gameshope with White Coomb, Carrefran Gans, Lochcraig Head and Nickies Knowe added on. Wet first few hours, cleared up nicelyGary Heath14/10/2022
From Talla Reservoir to Megget StoneHuwel29/08/2022
I did the six donalds on the west side of the Gameshope valley. Parked at Talla Linnfoots farm and straight up Garelet Hill, then Laird's Cleuch Rig and south to Erie Hill then Garelet Dod. Lay down here for a bit to rest due to the heat. Followed the fenceline south up to Din Law, then Cape Law. From there was a long walk back along the Gameshope Burn, visited the bothy on the way out too. Too sunny all day, 6:55hrs all in. 112 out of 141 now complete....chillyman813/08/2022
From Talla Linfoots for a round of Garelet Hill, Laird's Cleuch Rig, Erie Hill, Garelet Dod, Din Law and Cape Law.rhalstead16/06/2022
Parking at NT133201. Track, then deteriorating path to walled enclosure and then some, to meet new deer fence. Fading ATV track on N side of deer fence offers no respite to the grim steep ascent on deep grass to shoulder of Garelet Dod where a man gate gives access to the W side of the fence for Erie Hill and Lairds Cleuch Rig where another man gate allows access to Garelet Hill. An easy descent SE on deep grass meets a line of old fence posts which lead down through new plantings. Ford the river.Isbjorn07/06/2022
From Fruid, parked at NT106184, took faint ATV track up slopes towards Brawns Cleuch, followed the gully up to the forest, then SE along the forest fence, over Capilus Hill, continuing to the summit of Erie Hill, continued by fence roughly S to Speir Gairs, then SW to top of Garelet Dod, returning to fence and following it up Din Law, heading SW to the summit, descended WNW down the ridge, picking up and ATV track which then followed down NW, through the sheep fields to a track at the reservoir head, took that to Fruid farm, passing through it back to the start (4h15m)kdbennett19/12/2021
Wide verge for parking at NT 1343 2027. Across FB then steeply up to Garelet Hill -> Laird's Cleuch Rig then an easy jaunt across to here. On to Garelet Dod -> Ellers Cleuch Rig -> Din Law -> Great Hill -> Molls Cleuch Dod -> Carlavin Hill, then steep descent back to car for a 15.9km round.jonglew13/12/2021

A clockwise round of 11 summits from Nickies Knowe to Garelet Hill. Parking just E of the bridge on the Talla-Megget road. From Garelet Dod, onwards to Lairds Cleuch Rig.Minto18/07/2021
Up Gameshope valley from Talla Teservoir, then back along seven tops to the West. Easily room for around six cars at Talla Linnfoots. Good path up as far as bothy, more vague beyond there. Very unpleasant struggle through rough ground on north slope of Cape Law. But fine from there, following wall lines back over Cape Law, Din Law, Ellers Cleuch Rig, Garelet Dod, Erie Hill, Lairds Cleuch Rig, and Garelet Hill. Deer fencing runs from Common Law north to Talla, but gates are provided. Failed to find proper path for descent from Garelet. Great views, and didn’t see a soul all day.Toby-and-Dion10/07/2021
Games Hope 10 Donald Round. Clockwise from small car park near bridge on Talla Water. 13.6 miles. 3392ft ascent.DaveGraham 07/06/2021

Round of Erie Hill, Lairds Cleuch Rig, Garelet Hill and Garelet Dod from Fruid Reservoir dam.benalder28409/04/2021
Silver Jubilee Road out to Erie Hill then out and back to Garelet Hill over Laird's Cleuch Rig. Flanked Erie Hill following deer fence then up to Garelet Dod returning on good atv track over Strawberry Hill to Fruid. Pleasant enough return on tarmac from there.SS31/08/2020
From parking near bridge at 142 200. Circular walk. Nickies Knowe, Lochcraig Head, Firthybrig Head, Molls Cleuch Head, Carlavin Hill, steep descent to pretty Gameshope, step back up to Erie Hill, Lairds Cleuch Rig, Garelet Hill and descent to Talla Linnfoots. Warm, sunny and windy. With B and R.jenx31/07/2020
Round of Gameshope Glen from Talla Linfoots. 13 Donald/Donald Tops. 23km, +/-1300m, 8 hours.PGCE26/10/2019
On Fruid Dam- Garelet Hill- Laird's Cleuch Rig- Erie Hill- Garelet Dod- Strawberry Hill- Fruid Dam round with brother, Pete. ATV tracks by the fences made this straightforward and quite easy going from Garelet Hill. We went direct up the NE slope through woodrush- not bad, but fence following would have been easier though a bit longer. Fine day with lots of sunshine and good visibility.pwheeler17/09/2019
Weather fair.MountainMac25/07/2019
The 3rd of 10 Donalds on an anticlockwise circuit of the Gameshope Valley, starting with Garelet Hill & finishing on Carlavin Hill. From Laird's Cleuch Rig, decent path down to col & then picked up a faint ATV track which heads up towards the summit cairn. Continued to Garelet Dod. (S)gerrybowes07/06/2019
From LCR down and up onto summit cairn of EH; then back down to wall/fence, over Common Law, S then SW out to unmarked summit of GD. A few welcome clouds restrained the temperature. First visit was also solo on 15/07/2015.jacobus15/05/2019
A memorable day during a New Year Borders week. A crisp, clear, cold (-5 at the start) & sunny day with Shaky & Smithy, we dropped one car at Talla Linnfoots & drove the other to the layby on A701 at the Devil's Beef Tub. Followed the usual route up to Whitehope Heights then over Whitehope Knowe & up to Hart Fell. Onwards over Hartfell Rig & then turning N to switchback over Cape Law, Din Law, Ellers Cleuch Rig, Garelet Dod, a sharp pull on to Erie Hill & then on to Lairds Cleuch Rig to finish at the trig on Garelet Hill just in time for a truly stunning sunset. The SMC guide calls the ascent of Garelet Hill from the loch to the E 'brutal but satisfying'. In descent, it's just brutal although there is a faint path on the left side to help. A magnificent walk in perfect winter weather & highly recommended!NotReallyABagger02/01/2019
From Talla Linnfoots. Steep climb to Garelet Hill, then nice ridge to Laird's Cleuch Rig, Erie Hill, down to col, camped overnight then Garelet Dodd and descent E to Games Hope Burn, crossing to E side and faint path then track back to starting point.RobertP22/09/2018

13.1 mile walk from Talla Linnfoots, followed pass up east then lane, turned onto and climbed fairly steep slopes to top of Carlavin Hill, followed wall to Molls Cleuch Dod, descended and ascended Lochcraig Head up to summit then to edge to see the stunning view down on Loch Skeen, followed edge around to Mid Craig, climbed ridge then across to Great Hill, considerable descent to Games Hope Burn, then re-ascent of Cape Law after followed nice grassy ridge onto Din Law, Garelet Dod, shapely Erie Hill, Lairds Cleuch Rig and finally Garelet Hill with its very damaged trig, then descended very steeply back down to Car. Not a cloud in the sky all day, easy terrain mainly throughout, hot but with lovely breeze, saw about 10 people all day mostly from a far, this must be be a popular area of the Southern Uplands!DanTrig30/06/2018
A short slog from the north. Had breakfast on the rocks near the top.Play2End23/06/2018
Round of 4 Donalds clockwise from small carpark above bridge. Pleasant walking using ATV tracks and intermittent paths and ground drying out nicely. Still some big chunky snow patches on eastern slopes. Went to trig then easily down steep grassy slopes to road.AndrewFinnimore07/05/2018
Garelet Ridge. Parked at Talla Linnfoots. Horrifically steep ascent to Garelet Hill, then followed ridge to Cape Law - 7 summits including 3 Donalds and 3 Donald Tops. Dropped down to Gameshope Burn for return - followed west bank to Gameshope bothy, then had to wade the burn as none of the alleged FBs on the OS map exist - quite hair-raising after snow melt! Then followed good track back to start.Crib Goch25/03/2017

A day of filling in Donald gaps with Darren after a camp at Megget Stone and a big day yesterday. Did the nice simple grassy ridge tops of Garelet Hill to Erie Hill which we had missed 2 years ago with Darren when darkness forced us to descend early. A good steep climb up Garelet from Talla Linfoots- then after 3 tops slanted back down and without moving car an equally 'vertical'climb up to N to add Talla Cleuch Head.Chris Pearson13/04/2013
Garelet ridge in snow. Parked at Talla Linnfoot, crossed the bridge, followed footsteps up the steep slope to Garelet Hill. Then Laird's Cleuch Rig, Erie Hill, Garelet Dod, Eller's Cleuch Rig, Din Law and Cape Law, returning by the fence, cutting into the valley of the Gamehope Burn from the col SW of Erie Hill, wading the burn, and following the track back to Talla Linnfoot. A superb, but very cold, day.Nick Down110/11/2012
