In deep snow, high winds with even more snow falling, along ridge from Rannoch Station. Then down to lochside path following ATV track where it was visible through snow. Mist cleared a bit to reveal stunning views across Rannoch Moortrimarc215/04/2024

From Rannoch Station - followed lower forest track to NN 39738 56902 (slightly different GPS reading from other reports) on NE side of stream - from there a decent ATV track leads steeply upstream to approx edge of new forest at NN 39224 56910 then continues all the way to around NN 38493 56894 where it splits - easy to miss. One branch goes uphill to Point 638, and the other fainter track goes west along old fence remnants for 100-200m then becomes a decent ATV track with wooden boards and slats thereafter, all the way along the ridge to the top. Options to do a circular tour of main summit and Point 638 top. Whole trip easier than anticipated from SMC book, and map.willyross26/07/2023

From Meall a' Bhuirich. Fairly direct up grassy slopes. Could have picked up ATV track if stuck to ridge over Stob an Armailte. Descended S from Stob an Armailte to edge of firest, then good track back to Rannoch Station. KeithByTheC28/04/2023

From train station car park up track through wood onto hillside that leads to Meall liath na doire. Then wind your way across peat hag hell to eventually pick up the atv track on the ridge that leads to summit. Good views across the Rannoch Moor looking towards the Black Mount and Glencoe Mountains Went Followed the atv track all the way back down to the wood and along shoreline of the loch.Jossker18/06/2022

Route from Rannoch Station. Meall Liath na Doire (both potential high points, camping near summit), Meall a' Bhuirich, Stob na Cruaiche, Gearr Leacann, return along Loch Laidon. Cloudy, but excellent views to Glen CoeRobertP25/05/2021
As summiter, bone dry but still worth the atv track back through the forest. So much less effort on the return. One of the best views ever, worth the effort.iangalbraith25/04/2021
Followed track westwards from Rannoch Station until it forked. Took the right fork up and through forestry to its high point. Then pretty much along the county boundary westwards to take in Meall Liath na Doire, Meall a' Bhuirich and Stob na Cruaiche. This walk is all about the spectacular views as the conditions underfoot are generally boggy once off forestry tracks. An ATV track enhanced with wooden boards and chestnut-pail fencing across the wettest sections leads EEW from the top of Stob na Cruaiche back to the forest track. Definitely worth taking unless it is bone dry.summitter28/11/2020

Perfect cold weather with a bit of snow. Started up the usual route on the ATV track along the Allt a'Bhuirich, a nasty mess and awkward going when frozen because of wooden planks and slats laid across the bogs, very slippery. I took the better looking fork straight to the ridge line and regretted it when it petered out in nasty hags and bogs, giving strenuous going. On the way back, I followed the swampy main track. The summit of the hill is lovely though and the views are stunning.Gill08/11/2019

MC Alone from campervan at Rannoch Station. Good ATV track from Loch Laidon track extending nearly to the summit. Return via Meall Liath na Doire (and three prominent hill memorials) to starting point.Martin6627/08/2019

From Rannoch station, through trees and along tops to summit. Very dry underfoot. Very impressive viewpoint, well worth doing on a clear day. Point 648 has three interesting memorial cairns to Pearson family. Return via same route.MichaelF17/05/2019
