Parked at 88511 15894 and went up Sandy Lane. I wandered all over the new housing estate trying to find a way to the summit without success but eventually realised that you have to go up from Sandy Lane before the reservoir. However, new high metal gates have been installed so I climbed a lowish wall and the summit is at the far end of the open ground. It looks like they may be about to install a fence to link the gates so this may not be possible soon.clivevilla18/03/2024
Up from toilets, over gate and to top, down grassy area then out near boundary signs.Adrian26/12/2023

Easy parking on Shawclough Road, close to junction with A671 - Through wooden pedestrian gate at SD 88291 15924, up path through wood & then left below wall towards high point. Unfortunately, access is blocked by a locked 2m high steel-meshed gate & a high wire fence topped with bw - Dropped down alongside fence for about 30m, through a wide gap between fence & bw & up alongside fence to summit by garden wall. Descended E. on path to Gandy Lane, but again locked gate & fencing. However, some of fencing has been cut so probably the best ascent route.gerrybowes11/11/2023

1 of 3 on 5.8 mile hike. Parked near school in tonacliffe and made way down track across road and into small car park. There was a little cutting to the right which zigzagged it’s way to summit. Onto rushy hillThe-Z-Man06/05/2022
Parked in lay-by on main road, up lane to church and then through gate opposite. This led to open land at back of houses and HP. Came back down path to gate by toilets to NW. this maybe the better way to ascend as there were no private signs.PeterD24/03/2022
Nice little 860m circular. Up through the wooden gate by the (closed) toilets, down to the church, then back along the road. Very straightforward, good path all the way. My 1100th tump.malcorbett09/06/2021
Only practical access is via the grassy slope on the NE side. All quiet on a Sunday evening but the area has the feel of a 'forest school' about it. Definite high point on garden fence line.RichardM11/04/2021

From Watergrove Reservoir: Brown Wardle Hill, Rushy Hill, Gandy Brow. Lovely sunny July afternoon. Faint little used paths. Lots of semi-wild ponies with foals and cows with calves. Lovely local walk.Lazylizzie12/07/2020

Ample kerbside parking at SD88301 15913. Thru gate and followed path up thru pleasant woodland then turned left along wall to the summit. Good views of the South Pennines. With LuckyJohn Eley06/08/2019

Plentiful roadside parking to the north of the hill. Enter through a fieldgate and follow the track up to the wall. Turn left to follow the wall to the summit. The spot height is in a private garden but, looking over the wall, this appears to have been lowered for building purposed. Summit appears now to be on the access side of the wall, a raised tree stump.moorsman07/03/2019

Parking on Shawclough Rd, Broadley at SD 88245 15917. Go through gate and follow path up to wall - turn left and keep beside wall (still on path) to highest point beside wall and tree stump at SD 88347 15832. Spot height is actually in garden but thankfully is obviously lower.David Gradwell04/05/2014
