From Kingledores - glen track to windfarm road up Kingle Rig, then Glenlood, Broomy Law,Coomb Hill, Gathersnow, Hillshaw Head and Coomb Dod, then near 4 mile walk back down the glen to the car. The new windfarms are adding lots of new roads on these hills - not shown on my OS mapCrib Goch24/08/2019
Down and up from Hillshaw Head, passing close to wind turbines and service road, to reach badly eroded trig pillar on summit of CD. Didn't linger as rain threatened - it arrived as I descended, obliging me to don waterproof jacket but the shower passed quickly. Contiued down to sheep fank at Fingland Burn for lunch, then long trek (observing shepherds and dogs, on quad-cycles, driving sheep NE on Glenmuck Height) past Hopehead to Kingledores and car. No further rain. First visit was also solo on 16/07/2015.jacobus21/07/2019
On a round of the 5 Donalds. From Coulter Allers Farm. On own.MorecambeMonkey23/04/2019
From Backwater Rig. Took the wide unsightly windfarm grit road east and north, diverting on grass to reach the summit. Onwards to Hillshaw Head. Solo.Man of Kernow123/04/2019
Parked in the inshot off the A701, just at the entrance to Kingledores. Friendly farmers and dogs. Followed the windfarm track just after Glenkerie Burn, up onto Broomy Law, then across to Coomb Hill, Gathersnow Hill, Hillshaw Head and Coomb Dod. Easy walking. Descended east shoulder of Coomb Dod to join track back to the farm. Clear day with good views.LizH14/04/2019
The last of 6 D/DT/DDew on N. side of Kingledoors valley, starting with Glenlood Hill. From Hillshaw Head, dropped down to windfarm track, along track for about 300m & then a short climb to weathered trig point. Descended E. ridge & then farm track back to car. (S)gerrybowes09/04/2019
Kingledores circuit, camping overnight by summit of Coomb Dod. Cocklie Rig Head, Glenlood Hill, Broomy Law, Coomb Hill, Gathersnow Hill, Hillshaw Head, Coomb Dodd, Glenwhappen Dod, Upper Oliver Dodd, Nether Oliver Dodd. Mist down over the tops, but just occasional drizzle.RobertP06/04/2019

A circuit from Kingledores on a mild, misty December day. Across the foot bridge, up trods onto the broad SE ridge of Cocklie Rig Head, across the windfarm track to the summit, along the fence line over Glenlood Hill, Broomy Law, Coomb Hill, Gathersnow Hill, Hillshaw Head, Coomb Dod and Glenwhappen Dod, steeply down heather slopes to the track down the glen below the sheepfold. There is a curious gallery of summit markers on the Donalds and Donald Tops!Nick Down123/12/2018

My final Donald Top. Did along with Coomb Hill (clockwise). Had tried getting permission from Scottish Water to drive up to reservoir (like I did many years ago when doing the Grahams) but no luck this time.AndrewFinnimore29/10/2018

From Kingledores using windfarm access road to keep feet dry. Out to Glewnlood Hill then along ridge over Broomy Law and Coomb Hill to Gathersnaw Hill. Walked to Hillshaw Head in compant with walker doing a horseshoe from north but sadly saw nothing. Then came the huge surprise as a wind turbine appeared as I descended to Coomb Dod. Returned by way of east flank and valley floor. Shame about the weather.SS14/10/2017

from Hillshaw. On watershed going south to Culter Cleuch then fence downhill and up for 120' to top. Trig 5054. No cairn. No view - mist. 13.05.arranc03/04/2008
An excellent round of the hills above Culter Water with Shaky. Parked just past the farm then along the track for a short way taking the side track along King's Beck for a short way before joining the obvious path up NW ridge of Culter Fell. Then followed boundary over Moss Law, an out & back to Coomb Hill, Gathersnow Hill, Hillshaw Head, an out & back to Coomb Dod & then NW to Hudderstone. Dropped steeply E in failing light to the Coulter Reservoir & the private road back out. Started sunny but clouded over just before the top of Culter Fell although we got a view from all of the lower hills.NotReallyABagger28/12/2006
