A party of 9. Landed via tender on the beach. Mostly an easy ascent up through trees. Three (at least) pairs of secateurs helped to clear the path even more. | Minto | 01/09/2023 |
Boat trip from Birkenhead organised by Tony Jenkins | vegibagger | 01/09/2023 |
Very enjoyable cruise. A surprisingly pleasant place amongst so much surrounding industry. Many thanks to Tony. | Campbell Singer | 01/09/2023 |
An excellent trip from Monks Ferry - in fine company. Masterminded by, and thanks to, Tony. Unique. | summitsup | 01/09/2023 |
Repeat visit with 8 other baggers | Twice Brewed | 01/09/2023 |
Boat from Birkenhead. Clambered onto smaller boat to sail into the creek NW of the Mount. Hopped off just before high spring tide, without getting feet wet. Up through undergrowth to summit. Did some pruning on the way, but not as dense as I expected! | KeithByTheC | 01/09/2023 |

Finally completed Cheshire West, with some much appreciated help. Splendid sunshine. Interesting trip. A 41m Tump but GPS recorded 25.42km from jetty back to jetty plus 75m ascent. | GordonAdshead | 25/11/2022 |
With fellow intrepid baggers on a trip up the Mersey in glorious weather. Through easy vegetation from beach to NW up to top. UA completed. Thanks to Tony for organising. | PeterD | 25/11/2022 |
From Monks Ferry in Birkenhead, our party of 10 headed up the Mersey on a spring tide & landed on Manisty about 90min before high water - E. up through trees to summit; a fair bit of bramble, but not too bad. Excellent trip organised by Tony J. | gerrybowes | 25/11/2022 |
Good trip in excellent weather, with 9 others. Organised by Tony J. | PGCE | 25/11/2022 |
Very successful trip with 9 others. Great day for a cruise on the Mersey and a short battle with vegetation to reach the summit. | Bramley | 25/11/2022 |
A grand day out in perfect conditions. Thanks for organising Tony. Future visitors, bring a machete or something similar ... bramble patches a plenty. | summitter | 25/11/2022 |
Gardening gloves and secateurs came in useful. Glorious day. | CJM | 25/11/2022 |
Boat from Monks Ferry as described by others. A fabulous sunny morning. Thanks to Tony J for organising the trip. | Dangerous Dave | 25/11/2022 |
Wonderfully warm, dry day for this awkward to get at top. Vegetation not too bad on NE side of ridge, although pruning equipment proved handy to ease the way for GA. | Smudge | 25/11/2022 |

Canoe from Eastham Ferry with DARRENG. | andrew brown | 07/06/2020 |
Paddled from Eastham ferry past the ship canal and onto the beach at Mount Manisty with Andrew Brown. Got the Machette and cutters out as we hacked our way to the top. Quality outing in the Mersey. | DARRENG | 07/06/2020 |
The culmination of a 3-year quest, which included a failed attempt to row across the canal in an inflatable dinghy. In the end went with the much safer and more sociable option of a boat trip on the Mersey with 8 other baggers. | Tony J | 01/04/2018 |
Thanks for organising Tony. Great trip onto the sandy beach 50 minutes before high tide. A really interesting trip with 8 other baggers. Lucky with the calm conditions and great views of the coastline. | bolton | 01/04/2018 |
With others on boat, big thanks to Tony. | David Evans | 01/04/2018 |
Boat trip with Bryher, Rick and other mad baggers. | jenx | 01/04/2018 |
By boatfom Birkinhead with 9 intrepid members of RHB for the epic 29 metre ascent. :-) | Shutterlag | 01/04/2018 |
With 8 others plus Bryher. Thanks Tony for organizing a great trip. | Dave Geere | 01/04/2018 |
WW2 re-enactment in the Mersey they said! D-Day assault on the sandy beach (wave two, much safer), jungle warfare to take the observation post on Hill 18975, not much of a view with all that jungle! Back through the jungle for the Dunkirk style evacuation off the beach, (No RAF, apparently it was their birthday).
Then I am told that I have just climbed my 2nd Tump! | tim747 | 01/04/2018 |
Tony Jenkins trip, great little sailing with Jenx and Bryher | nordicstar | 01/04/2018 |

Boat ride down the Mersey from a secret location that must not be named, with a group of fellow baggers. Landing a short distance NW of Manisty on a rising tide, collection from small sandy area at NW point of the 'island'. Vegetation not as bad as expected | jonglew | 07/10/2017 |
Interesting trip requiring rather more planning and effort than the other Wirral summits! Thanks Rob for organising. | Aye Jimmy | 07/10/2017 |
Boat trip up from the Monks Ferry Slipway to Mounty Manisty. | Dugswell2 | 07/10/2017 |
As per Dazingdale. 1hr before high tide, landed half mile W on rough sloping sandstone revetment, slow scrambling along this then discovered much easier to cross to canal side of spit and walk along gabions. Lightish brush on ascent, JimB Abney confirmed brick pillar (beacon) is highpoint (and a trig intersected station) although we continued 150m further E to where ridge starts descending. Down at high tide exactly, when tender picked us up from sandy beach at foot of hill, very easy. Arriving half an hour before high water on highest tide might be possible to land here too for a quick up and down. Oct thru Mar seem to be highest spring tides of the year, 5m or a little above, need to catch one of these to visit Manisty by boat. | RHW | 07/10/2017 |
From Monks Ferry in Birkenhead with 9 others. Great trip and the hack through the foliage not too bad. Cheshire West and Chester Tumps completed. | Alan Caine | 07/10/2017 |
Despite a train derailment, the swell, the lack of approval from the authorities, the slippery landing and the poorly husbanded vegetation, made it. Seemed to be a bit busy, today. | Martin R | 07/10/2017 |
Day out on the Mersey was just as rewarding as getting to visit this very difficult to access hill. | Alex C | 07/10/2017 |
One of the baggers on today's trip. Excellent excursion, thanks to Rob for organising & Dugswell2's photographic record.
C& CW completed at last.
Will have to concentrate on Knowsley Park now, for a Mersey catchment completion. | ngthack | 07/10/2017 |
With gang. | jimbloomer | 07/10/2017 |
A long way to come from Glasgow for this Tump but it does seem rather special. Thanks to Rob for arranging the trip | Colin Crawford | 07/10/2017 |
Covert trip planned for a Wirral while. Lush vegetation, lots of insects; gloves and thick trousers required. Summit next to brick pillar. 2 hr window, 1 hr and 1 hr after high tide. Views from top: none. Best approach from the small isthmus of land connecting to Eastham locks. Interesting succulent plants on the sandy beach, birch is the dominant tree with hawthorns lower down but nettles and brambles are the biggest challenge to overcome. Summit grid ref: SJ38998 79028. Drove back to Nottingham but stopped at Alderley Edge en-route. | Dazingdale | 28/05/2017 |
