From SW through nature reserve and up insane mountain bike trail. Do they really ride all this? Very interesting area, a local showed us old iron boundary plates of mine railway on his property. | Wycombe Wanderer | 31/07/2020 |

Parking to west of road at entrance to nature reserve, w of summit, with interesting historical sign about coal mining, a canal and railway in the area, now mainly returned to nature. Summit is a cinder bing with many steep informal paths and mature trees. We accessed them from the S. | Denise | 21/06/2020 |
Mountain bike track up W ridge. Wooded spoil heap. | RichardM | 21/06/2020 |
Newton St Loe to Peasedown St John. Straightforward approach up W ridge but continuing E from the top and zig zagging down loose muddy trails felt very precarious at times. | Smudge | 05/01/2020 |
There is a good if steep path up the east shoulder. No descending bikes thank goodness. | Campbell Singer | 10/12/2018 |

This is actually a coal mining spoil heap so is man made. I thought I'd been here in 2008 on a walk from my parents place in Dunkerton but had my batches muddled up. The Old batch is a smaller hill to the SW which is now a nature reserve and industrial heritage site. Revisited the area today visiting both hills. The New Batch was an interesting walk up mountain bike tracks - quite fun running down them too. The Old Batch was a shorter and easier stroll from the village - lots of boards showing the industrial history of the area. | Herbert Anchovy | 26/07/2016 |
From South, lots of Mountain bike tracks but took me to the top and back down by a different set of tracks. | PeterD | 24/04/2016 |

Decided to boldly go...by the south west ridge direct, despite its fearsome steepness!!. It was a route of a thousand cuts as, Livingston like, I battled my way up with secateurs in full snipping mode!! | vegibagger | 26/12/2015 |
Short walk up steep track from ST 68615 58042. Spoil heap from the newer of 2 Camerton cola mines. Camerton Old Batch is now a nature reserve 500m or so to the SW. The 'new' pit was sunk around 1800 and produced coal to the 1950's. | jonglew | 02/09/2015 |
From S, paths slippery and quite tricky after rain. Quick visit to re complete the UA p30s. At first sight not very Bing like as covered in very mature woodland | RHW | 31/08/2015 |
Parked on the road to S. and followed MTB tracks, through the well established wood, to the grassy summit. | Chris Peart | 30/08/2015 |
