Parked W of Culter Allers Farm in a lay-by then walked the (apparently) private road until E of Lamington Hill. A field gate gives good access over the Cow Gill burn and through the bracken onto the open E flank of the Hill. ATV and sheep tracks continue along the ridge to Turkey Hill and Knowe Dodd, from where the simplest descent seems to be a slight reversal until N of Windgill, enabling a relatively easy descent back to the road. | summitter | 20/07/2023 |

On to Broad Hill -> Hardrig Head -> Whitelaw Brae -> Duncangill Head -> Windgate Bank -> Hudderstone -> Woodycleuch Dod -> Ward Law and return for a good high level 18.1km walk. | jonglew | 16/10/2021 |
From Culter Allers Farm. Abandoned Donalds due to bad weather and broken GPS. Alternative was Lamington Hill from same car park. Nice walk up Cowgill Reservoir road to obvious ATV track up Eastern ridge just past Windgill. | Jhimmy | 09/10/2021 |
Parked by church (17:00) and walked along roman road to the forest track and up this to the top edge of the wood. Obvious paths led along the woodland edge and up the hill. End of a very hot day; hazy but good view of Culter, Tinto etc. On return, crossed stile at junction with Roman road and followed path towards village which ended at a locked gate. Uncomfortable struggle through bushes thereafter to get to the main road. Finished 18:55 | dbb | 08/09/2021 |
Lamington Hill, Turkey Hill, Unthank Hill and Snaip Hillfort (back via Birthwood and Cowgill. 10 miles. 1729 ft ascent. | DaveGraham | 30/07/2020 |
From bus stop in village. Through churchyard and past kennels and up the track. Icy slopes to the top. | the pigguy | 28/02/2020 |
Parked by the church, waited 2.5 hours for the rain to stop, then walked along the back road past the church and primary school to the phone box. Many nice gardens. Across the main road, past the row of cottages (more gardens) then followed the walkers signs up through the nice plantation on a good track. Met a family of weasels, a bundle of ginger fur.
A faint ATV track after the gate, alongside the forestry wall, joining a better track to the top of the hill. Good views and a nice walk, worth waiting for the rain to stop. | Gill | 10/07/2019 |

Pleasant afternoon walk when we'd solved parking problem. Kirk car park entrance was too narrow for camper, but following road past school there were widenings that offered good parking. We continued to the next road to right, cross main road and at end of cul-de-sac we followed Hill Path signs to obvious route. | henryfm | 28/05/2016 |
