Parked at T junction as others. Over the first obvious gate near road summit, traversed up a pasture then through gate into summit field. Didn't see the farmer. No bwf's.clivevilla13/09/2023
I approached this hill with some trepidation having read previous posts, so I thought speed is of the essence. I parked early morning by the gate at SD 62050 84178, then went diagonally across a pasture to another gate at SD 61915 84370 and on to summit. 9 minute return trip and all done.DC11main15/02/2023

Left this hill until twilight in order to avoid any chance of encountering the GOML farmer. Pull-in at the start of Betweengates Lane then took the Byway back to the main road. There is an entrance gate into the field a few metres north and a good hedge which provides camouflage as you follow it upwards. Access to the summit field is via a gate at the SW field corner close to the summit. Walked back down the road wearing a flourescent vest and carrying a torch.moorsman23/09/2022

Almost wished I'd never spotted this new Tump from map hunting back in 2017 as following Nicky's report it's now become a FOMF (Fear of Meeting Farmer). However 5.50am on a beutiful May morning did the trick -as did following mea's route from layby to S along lovely narrow Betweengates Lane and brideleway.Once you pop out of the bridleway onto the main road - to get into field oppoiste walk right for 30m to field gate. There is only one gate to access the summit pasture-as per mae its at the top left SW corner of this lower field at SD619843 - (not at the grid ref mae reports which has stumped others - mae probably confused as this lower field is now twice the size shown on the 1:25000 map having lost its middle dividing boundary) . In summary -a simple ascent of two fields using two gates (no cows or sheep today). You even get to cross the line of a roman road in the lower field but no sign of it. Heavy rain yesterday had left the long grass still saturated.Chris Pearson17/05/2022
Ascent in dark with headtorch off to avoid any confrontationsconanharrod12/03/2021
Climbed from side road through woodland. Farmer came to see why we were on his land. He was not prepared to allow us to the summit from any direction and said he does not want to see people on private land. We agreed the highest point he would allow us to walk to - corner of field we were in which was very near the top, so that will have to do. Suggest consider removing this hill as no one can go there!nickywood116/08/2020
Parked on minor road to N at SD 6210 8500. Over end of metal fence where BW removed and ahead to obvious gate. Half right to further gate at SD 6193 8465. No gate to summit field - requires crossing double fenced hedge.carole engel28/12/2018
Road to bridge now open, work ongoing. Parked under trees off lane to North, up the bank and across field in SE direction, hurdled cattle trough and followed East side of fence. No sign of the MAE gate so pushed through the fence/double wired barrier at a tree to gain summit (path was another 200m on). Back Northwards and through another fence before heading back to the trough and way up through trees. 10 minutes scamperingnordicstar27/12/2018
From junc A683 & minor rd to Rigmaden Br. Bridge closed so no traffic going down to it made parking easy. 3 sheep pastures to the top.jonglew28/11/2018

From N as per AJ, but kept L in lower field to use mae's gate at top L corner to access summit pasture. Nice hill, frosty dusk ascent. 2 OSBMs: 1 at start, another on milestone en route. Cumbria recompleted - againRHW10/12/2017
Parked at T-junction on A683 just N of hill. Walked S to high point on quite busy road, passing large milestone, then over a gate. Field edge on R to top corner then couple of bwfs into top field.Aye Jimmy07/12/2017

Parking just S of Betweengates Lane on W side of A683. Used lane and RoW to emerge on main road E of summit. Climb to SW corner of first field (SD619845), where there's a gate into the summit field.mae11/11/2017
