Patked on verge , near two houses, on minor road opposite War Memorial. Followed track Up and came back down same way. Cows and calves eating , strip grazing. Several gates. Spoke to a nice man and admired his two sheep, South Country Cheviots.VerySlowPlodder04/02/2024
From war memorial near The Downs (Linton) to summit via Lintonhill Farm & track. Herds of cows with calves & bulls on route & in adjacent fields are best avoided. Fine & dry but overcast.Vin17/09/2023
Lovely countryside and shapely hills round here and mercifully quiet and unspoilt.Wycombe Wanderer16/05/2023

Good verge parking on minor road opposite Linton War Memorial (NT771268). Usual track to summit.vuirich26/02/2023
Really pleasant conditions for a leisurely wander up here this time of the year.Alex C27/01/2023
From Highside - a nice walk made interesting with multiple gate/ electric fence challenges. Suspect fences aren`t actually on when there is no livestock in fields.colazione02/01/2023
Solo, 2/4 gorgeous day. Parked on small lane opposite memorial followed track up, varied descent slightly by following line of trees west avoiding the herd of cows that followed me on the way up. Bulls in field were uninterested though. Grand views.Nick Canute17/09/2022
As others from war memorial. The 1/50K map may show the track better but it doesn't show the fences so I finished going up over a S Topvia an awkward electric fence. The correct way down, through the field with the bellowing bull, where I was glad to be the other side of the fence earlier. Fine views on a fine view-and the bull was harmless.pwheeler10/09/2022
1 of 4: Parked near the war memorial. With Karen.ChrisR18/04/2022
Followed the track used by others, just by the war memorial. Parked opposite. Weird how the track is shown on 1:50 000 map but not the 1:25 000. No cattle about, just sheep. Got a friendly wave from farmer. No access problems. Solo.Dangerous Dave18/01/2022
War memorial route; cattle a bit intimidating.m0jla05/09/2021
As per Roblex. As the livestock had moved on my return from the summit I had to go straight down through the next field and join a minor road which then took me back to the main road slightly further on before walking back to the car.curlebd12/06/2021
Usual ascent via the track just to the west of war memorial in Linton (B6436),opposite minor road to Crookhouse. Had to leave the track to avoid large numbers of livestock.. Cut through wooded area and then alongside wall to the top. Just over an hour with the detour.Roblex01/09/2020
From war memorial up track all the way to summit. Back the same way. KeithByTheC13/07/2020

With Jon Glew. Started from Linton War Memorial (NT77172 26850) following fence and tracks to radio station Back same way.mntainman16/10/2017
An unexpectedly wonderful walk from the quarry at the end of a bagfest day, with superb sunset views of the Cheviots from the top, and watching rain storms heading south on the way down, all illuminated by the setting sun, and a superb rainbow to finish off with. All electric fences have insulated handles at the key gates. The gate just by the trees lands you in a foul bog, easily avoidable by heading NE along the fence before heading up hill.Gill05/10/2017
2/4 from Quarry like others. Easy walk up fields and along the wall/fence (south side) to the summit and radio station. Up and down 30mins.N.Morters01/07/2017
Left car with Lorraine at quarry at NT778286. Would be difficult to leave a car at this point without obstructing entrance. Ascended through various gates through field boundary walls. Note that the electric fences across gates can mostly be disarmed by unhooking them using the plastic hook on one side. Returned via same route.raffemeister26/12/2016
From the quarry pull-in. Across the fields and electric fences and back in 30 mins.Play2End27/09/2016

Lots of cows, calves and bulls. walked up track from main road past farm. Parked at Linton Kirk.GmacT03/07/2013
W Jenx, from quarry to NW. As others before, however drifts had buried walls and electric fences :-). Gale force bitter wind slowed progress up but sped us down. Shame at mid point a nice gorse habitat had been completely dug out, for a few more metres of grazing! Didn\'t dwell on top, wind thru antennae sounded like a jet plane overhead.nordicstar23/03/2013
1st of 5 for the day around the Cheviot. From old quarry to NW, open fields and six gates.Topographer5727/02/2013
Linton to Town Yetholm: Slow progress plowtering through variable snow. No cattle, just very hungry sheep in the field above Lintonhill.Smudge25/01/2013
Parked on road at 773268 (18:40) and walked up track. After Linton Covert this became indistinct, passing through fields with cows and bullocks. Trig point just outside mast compound. Weather dry. Finished 19:45dbb10/08/2011
