Last hill of the year. Pleasant oak woods . HP is mossy rock outcrop open trees. Raining. Parked on wide road by gate to west.Denise 31/12/2023
'One of mine'. I raised this as a possible Tump on the Tump forum back in 2018 when I used to enjoy hunting for new tumps on the free online 5m contour Geograph maps -before they disappeared and before Lidar and JNSA came along. 6 of 9 (6 Tumps & 3 subs) on a fairly tough 20km solo walk/jog/jungle fight circuit. Easy track up from road here just as as a heavy rain shower hit - useful tree shelter. This followed a running road descent from pleasingly bagging Green Hows (sub-tump)- another hard to access patch of open access land as the Graythwaite estate approach track had permanent discouraging forestry work and event in place signs nailed in place. Also 'conquered' the minor sub of High Cat Crags down the road from here - joining the select band of sub-tumpers picking off these Lakeland gems -logged on haroldstreet: Rusty, Tommy, Wanderer, SeanyG. Road jog onwards to Ausin Fell via saw mill approach footpathChris Pearson03/10/2023
Parked in layby south of the hill. Walked a short way back and then cut through a low wall to a path with newly planted trees This joins a track from where the summit is easily reached. I have orienteered here in the past.JohnW06/03/2023
Worked our way up and down from the gate. Nice hill in open woodland.Moorponder30/12/2022
Very wet day. Walked from Bowness via Ferry, over Middle Fell and Stott Park Heights. This is easy from road with good track almost to top. Eventually ended at Newby Bridge for bus to Kendaltrimarc208/11/2022
Up the track from the west, avoiding pheasants and cartridge shells.summitter21/10/2022
There is a small layby just south of the access track However, the return ascent takes under 5 minutes so it is worth the risk of parking at the start of the access track. Used this track to reach alongside the summit but took the direct way down.moorsman19/05/2022
A lovely relief after all the conifer forestry on the Black Brows side of the road. 10 min from the gate. Nickywood's parking spot would be better if away any longer and her route description is spot on. Mizzle- just below cloud base!pwheeler03/03/2022
Tucked the car in by the gate by the track and took the track and short clamber up through open mature deciduous woodland. Not what I expected in this neck of the woods.DC11main14/02/2022
In a dry moment of a rainy day, following Nicky Wood's route.Nick Down103/07/2021

Good parking in layby to the south then back up the road and through open gate. Pleasant woodland.Alan Caine10/10/2020
Parked in layby just south of the woodland, short walk up road and into the woods over a lower section of wall made for access, along through new trees to join the track leading right up to the pheasant area. Summit to left just before pheasant area not through the gate.nickywood109/10/2020
Track from W for short way then up through woodland. Loud shooting going on nearby.Aye Jimmy16/09/2020
Very short ascent from track to west in heavy rain. Nice woodland.Wycombe Wanderer22/08/2020
