Fourth summit of the Day. Yay, I've climbed Snowdon or Yr Wyddfa!. From the Pen Y Gwyrd hotel, an epic route upto the Pen Y Pass, then Craig Fach, scrambling over Crib Goch and then Garnedd Ugain (Crib Y Ddysgl). Wind speed picked up and was very cold due to the Wind chill at the summit Trig. Cafe is like a stargate portal, all these people just appear from nowhere!! After being fed and watered at the cafe I continued my epic route via the horseshoe of hills leading to Llanberis including Moel Elio.Dazingdale08/07/2014

Bus to Pen y Pass, then walked Pen y Pass > Pyg Track > Summit > Llanberis Path > Llanberis, then bus to Bangor and train home (via Chester, Warrington, Euston & Kings Cross). From Garnedd Ugain. Fairly easy along the line of the railway, although very cold and mild blizzard. Great feeling at the top, explored the train station which looked more like an Antarctic research base! Got slightly disorientated coming off the summit and had a slight fall, but eventually reached Bwlch Ciliau. My highest point to date. Onto Y Lliwedd. THE SNOWDONIA 7 CHALLENGE, in teams of 4, ours was Darryl Bradshaw, Paul Beard, Dave Osbourne and me. Slogged up onto Glyder Fach, fell running teams already passing us, had been set off at 5 min intervals, there were 50 teams of 4. Started to run flat sections along the top. Y Garn broke Daryl and we all had to slow down. Pushed for time as coming off Elidir Fawr, we had to be at Llanberis checkpoint within a specified time or we would be pulled out. We were 2 mins over but allowed to continue. All wasted now. Up Llanberis path toward Snowdon, managed it by popping nurofens. On to Crib y Ddysgl. Now my right knee was causing serious problems. Managed to get over Snowdon and we all hobbled down to Rhyd-ddu. We were last down but had completed the course as was our objective. 5 teams had pulled out. Hardest mountain trip I had done and I could hardly walk for a week after. Great experience and we were the first Northants team to complete the course ever. Others had failed.Mark T21/08/1989
Took Paul up to show what I thought was the second part of the Snowdon 7 challenge. After usual breakfast at Petes Eats in Llanberis, bought some rock hardware. Walked up into Cwm Glas and up onto Crib y Ddysgl and onto Snowdon. Came down PYG track. Noticed that the track had been widened and was now like a road. Usual drinks at Vaynol Arms.Mark T08/07/1989
Another reccy for the Snowdonia 7 challenge. I assumed the route would be up Cwm Glas Mawr onto Crib y ddysgl so camped at Nant Peris as usual. On my own. Set off up Cwm Glas Mawr and scrambled up the steep grassy slope to the right of Llyn Glas. Very steep. Up the north ridge onto Crib y ddysgl and on to Snowdon. 2 3/4 hr. Night Hike with Dr Llloyd Jenkins and group of venture scouts met in Tyn y coed bar earlier. Invited during session in bar, did not believe they were going up Snowdon that night, gave lift to tent at back of Jo Browns shop in Capel Curig, then onto Pen y Pass car park. There were hundreds of people there all kitted up. Given a group to join and all set off in different directions up Snowdon. After midnight. Remember going up PYG track and getting lost on the zig zags, it was only a small track then. Ended up ascending a grassy slope in my DM boots, very slippy. Scarey as just a void behind us. Once at the top everyone jumped into sleeping bags and me and my friend just walked round and round the cafe to keep warm. Did not see the sunrise as planned, the mist just got brighter. We all descended down to the lake and we were given some breakfast kindly by the other members of the groups. It was from this walk the Lloyd invited us onto the roof of Wales hike at New Year.Mark T02/08/1977

with dad from Pen-y-Pass didn't start til 6.20pm, up Crib Goch ridge and Crib -y-Ddysdal on summit at 9.00 clear weather cloud inversion looking down on a sea of clouds in the valleys. Absolutely wonderful for both dad and me to be able to experience all this after what we've both been through with nine weeks in hospital March and April for me and a couple of weeks for him. Descent 9.20 via Pyg track trotting most of the way arriving back at car in late twilight and valley mist at 10.40vegibagger27/05/1970
up the Watkin path, last 800ft in cloud. Descent down gully to Llyn Glaslyn and Llyn Llydaw cloud level now down to 1500ft finally down pipeline to powerstation and back to site. Found it pretty hard. Just about four weeks after I'd come out of hospital after nine weeks of march and April in hospital after being shot. Lost a lot of weight, down to about nine and a half stone but muscle wastage in legs from initial three weeks in bed had to be totally rebuilt. Great to be alive and able to do this. First 3000ft summit! From Pen-y-pass CP via Miners' TrackAnduril21/04/1968
Just a teenager, must do it as an adult some day! Poor visibility as far as I can remember. Returned June 10 2011 via Pyg track with Spike. Went back on August 23 2012 with MO and Moira. Went up by easier Llanberis path this time. Weather Ok, but AGAIN nothing to see from top-too cloudy. Too packed all the way up and down. That's it for popular peaks.iain02/03/1966
Approx date. First time from Rhyd-Ddu, with my dad again! Have climbed many times since, (I prefere the Watkin Path) Usually cloudy on the summit but if clear, views are spectacular. The cafe allways seems mobbed out but the coffee is welcomed!Kered02/08/1965

My very first Nuttall - from Llanberis; and I stood proudly on the trig point. It poured with rain as we descended and I was swept along by mum and dad, each holding one hand, so that my feet barely touched the ground; and a blue cardigan I was wearing was so laden with water that it came down to my knees! We went up pretty much every year after that, mostly at Easter, by various routes. But it wasn't until 1990 that I climbed my second Nuttall, and not until 1993 that I even came to hear of them! The rest, as they say, is history!ruthatlast06/06/1963
