A hill I have long wanted to climb. Parked on A5 near Pont Cyfyng (Waterfall) - Track to Quarries - Llyn-y-foel - Daear Ddu - Carnedd Moel Siabod (Summit and Trig) - circuited Llyn-y-foel on return leg. | briandavies | 05/01/2019 |
Fantastic days walking, climbed through the cloud to be rewarded with a glimpse of a sunlit mountain top across the valley through a chink in the cloud, then a few minutes later and a bit more climbing brought us into bright sunlight, clear blue sky with the valleys full of cloud. Slowly the valleys cleared too. To cap it all on the way down, a large cloud formed in the valley and blew towards us, with the low sun behind us we were rewarded with a brilliant Brocken Specter, amazing day. | Bernard | 17/11/2018 |
Parked in Bryn Glo carpark, walked up the north-east ridge to the summit. Summit misted over. Descended the north-north-east path back to Capel Curig, and then along the river back to Bryn Glo. | noxibis | 01/10/2018 |

Nuttall 418. Parked in Siabod Cafe car park. In fact parked there overnight to get early start on Yr Aran. Straight forward route over bridge opposite, following forest track through plantion to fence onto open fell. Well trodden path easy enough to follow, apart from small section on the middle, to rim of summit plateau. Summit off to right over boulder field with trig point on large obvious rocky prominence. | SteveSmith | 08/10/2016 |
Clockwise from Brn glo via garegg Amlwg no visibility at top no views | underhill | 07/10/2016 |

Parked on the Bryn Glo cp, cafe closed. Up via the tarmac road and did a clockwise circuit, didn't take the ridge but the easy path was a hard walk. The descent on the ridge is tough on the knees | bardolph | 07/06/2016 |
I did this walk the wrong way round as I came down Daear Ddu and, since it's a little bit of a scramble, it's probably better to go up that way and down the other. This is an ideal half way walk and took me about 4 hours.
Parked on the A5 layby just opposite Bryn Glo (which is also a car park and has a tea room). Crossed the river and followed the river bank upstream and then headed through Coed Bryn-engan which had a fine display of blue bells, despite the fact that it was the last day of May. A surprisingly busy top, passed quite a few people, but it was half term. Great views of Snowdon on the way up. Came down to Llyn y Foel via Ddaer Ddu which was a little bit of a scramble. The ruined quarry was also very interesting on the descent, must have been pretty substantial in its day. | tsharp | 31/05/2016 |
With Stania, Alex and Aiden | raist77 | 28/05/2016 |
A half-day walk with Dave. Left cars at Capel Curig, walked to Pont-Cyfyng then followed farm track up to mine ruins and Cwm y Foel. Scrambled up the Daear Ddu ridge to the summit. Intermittent cloud, wide views. Descended the north-east ridge to rejoin the farm track. | Skip | 25/05/2016 |
Scramble path to summit with Fiona gloriously blue skies! | Lykewake42 | 16/05/2016 |
Climbed from A5 at Pont-Cyfnyg via Llyn y Foel and SE ridge on ascent. Descent via NE ridge. Total time 4 hours. Beautiful cloudless sunny weather. Super mountain. Nice scrambly ridge, shapely peak, excellent viewpoint, especially of the Snowdon horseshoe. I climbed with my labrador Jet, who had to be lifted over some of the rocky steps on the SE ridge, but who enjoyed swimming in the tarns! Actually second ascent of Moel Siabod, having originally climbed it in the late 90's. | jamessteel100 | 14/05/2016 |

Nice scramble up Daear Ddu after walking in from Pont Cyfyng. First time in very poor visibility and a test of my nav skills to get off the top! | Fwapp | 20/04/2008 |
Nice scramble up in fair weather, but that changed at the top. Lots of snow and no visibility. Thought briefly about an enforced overnight stay, but eventually got down! good day out | wee mac | 20/04/2008 |

From Pont Cyfyng track leads past scenic lake and flooded quarry, then into upper cwm, also with small lake. Easy scramble up the LH ridge leads to stone built trig perched on rock. Returned down NE ridge. My 600th Marilyn and fine hill too. | Aye Jimmy | 24/08/2007 |

This was a fond childhood memory of mine with high school, we made the ascent as part of an outdoor pursuits programme with Lledr Hall in Pont-y-Pant, anyways we started at the bottom near some forest like area and gradually got to the top to some amazing views (even had a fighter jet fly-by from R.A.F Anglesey) now on the way down i hadn't fallen once yet at the bottom in some village i slipped on a feckkin' puddle and got my arse wet, which made an uncomfy ride back to lledr on the minibus! haha! - Charlie | Man-of-Rohan | 12/07/2006 |

A weather report at the end of this month said that the temperature reached 60 degrees (F) at Capel Curig today. Striking view from the Royal Bridge across to the Snowdon group. Walked through woodland and then along a straight, stony path to the summit ridge. Across boulders to the top. Moel Siabod stands completely alone and there is a full-circle panorama from Moel Hebog to the Carneddau and then the flatter landscape to the north and east. | peter4lc | 12/12/2001 |

With: sj cc jm jj muhc; From Capel Curig YH up track to NE ridge of Moel Siabod then up to summit. Descended ENE to Llyn y Foel then through forest and track back to Capel Curig. Snowy and cold. | Ian Baines | 28/01/1978 |
Many visits, this the date of my first ascent. I went from Capel Curig via Llyn y Foel, a route that is stongly recommended for its beauty and finish on rock, on the E ridge (maybe up to Grade 1 scrambling). I love this side of the mountain. The N and W slopes are comparatively dull; the view of the Snowdon Horseshoe and cwm is one of Britain's classic mountain views. I went down the moorland slopes to get to Pen y Pass today. | pwheeler | 20/09/1975 |

With Chester Rambling Club. From Pont Cyfyng. Crossed the river and after 100yd turn right off road to track beside a disused inclined plane. Went past (on the right hand side) a small lake and then a quarry (filled with frozen water). On the far side of Llyn y Fach had lunch. Went up fairly steep ridge to Carnedd Moel-siabod (2860'). Many interesting small pitches climbed, but this was not in the least necessary. Walked downhill approximately in a straight line for Capel Curig. There is a faint path; it starts just outside the trees. Crosses fence into Forestry Commission land on top of rise; at broken wall, followed wall to a well defined track which leads to Brynengan. Just before the latter took a short cut direct to the river footbridge. A little snow remaining. Tea at Snowdon Café, a wooden chalet with good views of Snowdon. | pwbellarby | 07/01/1962 |
