Aber falls was a fab discovery - but very busy. But the crowds are quickly left behind. It's a difficult choice as to when to turn left to Llwytmor, but talking to another walker who turned left a lot later couldn't find a better path further up. Nice to visit the main ridge again.andrewroberts04/06/2023

The ground from Garnedd Uchaf towards Bera Mawr was pathless and soft, and at one point my right leg disappeared up to the thigh in marsh. I came tantalisingly within reach of the summit, but the rocks were so slippery that it seemed I would have to return in summer. Finally I found good footholds on the eastern side and was able to touch the top.peter4lc26/10/2003

Gerlan- Crib Lem- High Carneddau then Bera Bach(qv) , Bera Mawr, Drosgl and Gyrn Wigiau, then down to Gerlan. Sunny morning, grey, rather gloomy, still afternoon though the cloud kept above all the Carneddau- just. Linking the bristly tors such as this one, visiting the highest rock, gave an enjoyable and rather atmospheric afternoon. Almost all the wildlife was in the rocky jumbles- Snow Buntings, huge flocks of pipits, and Small Autumnal Moths (very much a moorland species).pwheeler26/10/1997
