6.4 mile out-and-back from Rhyd-Ddu car park up Rhyd-Ddu path the onto track to the old quarries crossing a ladder stile and ascending steep but easy slopes up to ridge and then to summit. 568m ascent. The views today were amazing. Not a cloud in the sky and not too hazy taking in most of Southern Snowdonia and all of Cardigan Bay and dare I say the best view of Snowdon from another mountain. Great little summit too. A hidden gem of a mountain.DanTrig16/06/2022

Cracking day doing Yr Aran and Snowdon via the Watkin path. Weather was bad for August with cloud for most of the day. Started late (11am) to wait for the worst to pass. Struggled finding the path split at first for Yr Aran across the bog but soon found my way towards higher ground. Summited around 2pm for a perfectly timed 30 second break in the clouds. Whole way up and back to the Watkin without seeing another.MysteriousSue16/08/2021

This was my final Welsh Marilyn and my 1551st and final one so walked up from Rhydd Ddu with my wife, and summitted with Chris, Alex, Barry and Dan. Enjoyed the company together with the usual summit celebrations. Excellent walking conditions and a beer at the Cwellan afterwards.NormanW02/07/2021

An excellent hill with great views of the Snowdon massif. Walked with Lindsey from Bethania carpark (given a free ticket by departing driver). Cloudy-bright, light wind. Started up Watkin Path at 10am. Impressive mining ruins. Into Cwm Llan then up steep grass following faint path up to the ridge. Followed wall west until wire fence then over stile and up steep short path to Yr Aran summit. Had lunch then rumbles of thunder so retraced route (with detour to see Gladstone's Rock). Rained during the walk-out. Back to car about 4pm giving approx 5 hours walking time. Route approx 5 miles, 2,100 ft ascent.Skip02/05/2021
