5/5. Kylemore Abbey all seems very commercial now, so didn't fancy trying my luck that way. Parked opposite cottage at 769 586. Useful gate 100m east, follow stream up to 2nd gate onto open moorland.PGCE22/05/2017
One of the best! A naughty route from Kylemore Abbey, up the far path and down the path by the statue. This makes a fabulous walk, with amazing views. Shame that the top was all socked in with mist, but it didn't matter because it's a truly amazing plateau, all ups an downs past little knolls and lochans. It's especially fun, because finding the way is more about route finding than navigation - would a compass work on this gabbro hill? The path down past the statue is especially good, as it zig zags across a very steep hillside. Apparently you're only supposed to use the paths with a guide, but that rules out any winter use of the paths. But if no-one is looking, who's to know? In any case, we paid the entrance fee....Gill23/12/2014
first ascent, 2 in party, sunny, 9.3km. climbed from kylemore abbey, following the hill path past a statue and around into a col and up a grassy gully to the summit area, many small tops, made the summit good views.rum doodle 11/07/2010
