From ponderosa. Much better views that when I first did moel y faen. Hot and sweaty.. steep in places. Too hot to go over to Moel morfydd. Pleasant walk though.Laura.W13/05/2019
Very steep climb up a gravelly path. Exposed summit with cairn, highest point of this line of hills. Extremely steep descent over other side, hiking poles would be advisablegiant_hiker28/04/2019

10.1 mile walk from car park near Berwyn Station, walked along minor road to Rhewl then climbed up good path near Cymmo Farm across fern slopes onto Graig-Ddu (for first time) then climbed obvious steep tracks onto Moel Morfydd, Moel.Y.Gaer and Moel.Y.Gamelin (bagged these 3 previously in 2010) and along little trails through ferns onto Maesyrychen Mountains (first time) and followed paths back to road near Llantysilio farm, turned left along more minor road and across field paths to Coed Hyrddyn (first time) along this nice little hill back to car park, overcast with brief bursts of sun, then drove home just beating the bank holiday rush.DanTrig25/08/2017

Wow! What a fab walk. From Chainbridge hotel to Llandynan, up past the slate quarry, with awesome views of the Dee valley. Down to the Ponderosa, and a fast, cake-fuelled ascent to Cyrn-y-Brain (good views, ugly masts). To the trig, and back on Offa's. Up the track circling around World's end for an amazing finale along the top of the crags, joining Offa's via an interesting descent path. OS map hopelessly, completely wrong in a good way! Down the road and canal towpath to finish.Gill15/10/2016
Road side parking near church ENE of Rhewl. Graig-ddu, Moel Morfydd grassy track soon becomes a stoney scar on the landscape all the way to Moel y Faen and unforgiving get in today's hot windless weather, Moel y Gaer, Moel y Gamelin, Moel y Faen, Maesyrychen Mountain.ijpowell15/09/2016

With K and RM. Parked on bend of horseshoe pass - would have been better on quarry track. Great weather.Ashley27/05/2016
Glyndyfrdwy to Coedpoeth. A magnificent hill, well worth the slog up from Morfydd. The isolation and large relief on either side is quite something for a sub-2000ft hill.Jake99408/04/2016

Walked up a good path from the layby opposite the Ponderosa cafe. An easy ascent over a couple of small peaks to the small summit cairn. Excellent visibility and very warm. Lots of birb life over the blooming heather including swallows, pipits and a kestrel..Peterb10/09/2015

After Cyrn y Brain. From Ponderosa cafe via Moel-y-Faen on a fine afternoon. The hills steamed in the sunshine after showers and the views W were excellent- clearer weather W. There is a broad track and signs of trail bike use so it was good to do this in midweek. Came back down the E. ridge of Moel-y-Faen for wonderful views of the limestone scarps above Llangollenpwheeler07/05/2015
